New exhaust question

I've been looking around at different posts and I'm trying to find info about putting a 2.4 cat back on my 2010 2.2 EFE. I'm not trying to make it a race car, that's not possible. I just want to free it up a little bit and make it sound a little better. Has anyone tried this pipe from Rock Auto? EASTERN EXHAUSTEE68468

2.2 and 2.4l exhaust systems are the same, at least all the ones ive looked at. you wont see any performance gains. if you want an oem exhaust system thats better you would need to look at an ss/sc exhaust. the cat-back is a bolt on swap between all cobalts except the factory turbo cars, keep that in mind when looking for an oe replacement as many will be tagged as correct for the ss/sc but they will be the smaller exhaust system from a 2.2/2.4l car

I actually purchased one of these eBay exhausts for my base model originally and it sounded great. Not too loud and wasn't tinny at all. Might want to look into one of those.

Here's a youtube video to how mine sounded

Was there any long term problems with the exhaust? As in quality type issues.

got one of those exhaust kits for our shop hhr a couple years back. the muffler had no packing in it and the resonator was just hollow. sounded to terrible. ended up putting a magnaflow muffler and resonator in it. for the money the piping was worth it though.

How about the 2007 2.0 supercharged pipe from RockAuto.com?

I got the 2.0 turbo pipe from RockAuto.com (eastern exhaust) and the AP muffler for the same motor. Both were for a 2007 but they fit perfect. The sound is more noticeable but not too much. There seems to be a little power improvement but I wasn't expecting much. Only real difference is it takes a little longer to rev. down when I push the clutch. So I'm happy with it.
