Thumbs up Big thanks to Powell Race Parts!

I recently acquired an Oil Air Separator LNF kit from a local Cobalt guy here on Long Island. Got it for free, said he couldn't install it, I didn't even know what it was at the time. I turned to the forums here and read a few posts about John Powell's OAS "Anti Coking" LNF kit. After attempting to install it, I realized I was missing a few parts. After reaching out to Powell Race Parts, I was promptly contacted by John and Gloria who were extremely helpful in identifying my needs and what would need to be done to get everything hooked up.

After sending some pics, they identified that I have some home-made kit and not one that they make. John and Gloria not only worked with me to tell me what is needed to fix it, they would allow me to send in what I have for modification and repair to get it up to snuff. The changes that would need to be made may be a bit more than I originally wanted to invest, I prefer the walnut media blast approach to cleaning valves, but I'm in it for $0 so far so I'm still ahead of the game.

This post is just to serve as a means to share my experience; I never worked with them before but after reading all of the great posts by John P. and seeing the quality products they make, I am very impressed with his technical know-how and even more impressed by his desire to help the customer get quality parts. This exceeds anything I've ever encountered with other vendors I have purchased parts from or tried to contact for costumer service.

Just want to say a big thanks to John and Gloria for all of their help!

Powell is the best, period.
BTW, the PCV kit is no alternative to cleaning your valves. Once you clean them, it will keep them clean. You probably should still do the walnut blasting.

They are good ppl indeed. I had the head off at 70k miles, cleaned them good, have 105k now. I’ll clean them again sometime, gonna pull the intake manifold when I get time and do it up. I’m looking forward to having zero oil in my intake piping!

It is a good solution, but it doesn't cure all the oil going to the intake, but it helps.

well if any of you have a big turbo and their v3 system, I strongly recommend you check for crank case pressure. tie a rubber glove around dipstick tube and let it idle, if it blows up, like im sure it will, its not working. solutions are being worked on.

Is that where my (roughly 1 quart) of oil goes during a 20 minute track session? It doesn't seem to smoke too bad, but is almost always down a quart after 20-30 minutes on track.

So I tried a single separator system. Didn't work. To complicated. So I'm going dual catch can system using mishimoto compact baffled catchcans. They are small and will fit where Powell one is. They use a washable brass filter on clean side. Both pcv systems are meant to work independently which is why I'm doing 2. One for intake manifold. One for valve cover. Not doing drain back because iv been collecting alot of water from moisture. Don't want that in the oil

That's what the ats 2.0 guys are running. Be careful of cheap fittings or hoses with some of the kits.
