Weird turbo noise when holding rpm

If I am holding around 3k rpm in 3,4,5 I get a little tsss tsss noise whenever I hold the rpm with my foot almost like it’s trying to get rid of boost, I can still boost and everything but it just seems weird. My cruise doesn’t work so I’m not sure if it’s just to do with me or if my turbo is going, it’s the stock recirculating valve, only mods are full Hahn exhaust and a bad tune from previous owner.

do you have a big turbo? with my 257, if I hold boost at say 3k rpm for more then 5 seconds I get surge, which is your engine not being able to consume all the air the turbo is pushing so it goes back into the compressor blades....which is bad. yours sounds like its doing the same. kind of a flutter sound right? or is it a blow off sound? if its that's then ur bpv solenoid may be going out or ur boost solenoid. both can do that

Really could be a "bad" tune and recirc valve having a torn boot...you'll have to pull the BPV and see if the rubber boot is ok.

I have flutter when I let off, but this isn’t a flutter noise it’s like air leaking out of a hose, it only does it when I clear my engine light for a baro code so I’m thinking it has to do with the bpv, I’m going for a custom tune soon so if that doesn’t fix it I’ll just get a forge bpv

I have the gms1 tune but the guy before me out stock maps sensors on for some reason, that’s what I’m meaning by “bad” tune haha
