Lnf F35 stuck in 3rd (maybe) but shifter feels like nothing.
I DID SEARCH. AND HARD.
Basically my friends new (for him) lnf is stuck in third we believe and won't go into neutral or any other gears .... Clutch always has to be in.
The shifter is completely loose.
Is this a linkage issue (roll pin or whatever) or is this a problem with syncros ....
??

I'm hoping so because that'll be way easier to fix than replacing the whole tranny.
Thing is .... The previous owner had it looked at by a transmission shop .... They replaced the cables .... But believed it was still an internal issue .... Perhaps they missed the role pin being wrecked?

If it was the syncros, wouldn't some gears at least still work ?? .... It's basically the shifter is floppy .... Like just sprung to middle I believe.
But it's in third I believe .... But permanently.

I can't really find anything definite about how to really fix the roll pin .... And where to find a super short punch. It's a 1"-1.25" role pin with thickness of 3/16 but they seem to break even when replaced.
screw better? 10-24 ?

That thread was started in 2007 .... Before the TC I believe .... I think it's a Cobalt f35 specific issue .... Wonder if the redlines has the problem too ....
The f23 does not have this issue.
Someone fixed theres pretty permanently by using a grade 8 10-24 x 1.5" bolt ....

Dunno how to buy anything from him though.
I'm gonna try and replace it with a basic replacement pin with two smaller pins inside as someone else did this and it seemed to help.

Bump
So UPDATE!!
We tried to see if it was the roll pin .... doesn't seem like it ....
It won't move side to side .... Basically jammed in 4th I believe .... Then when you move it the only place it'll move to (nuetral ish area) it won't move side to side like nuetral should .... Totally jammed.
It's the lower roll thing on the transmission that's jammed .... Won't physically move .... upper one move fine ....
Whats the problem then??
Ideas??

In the photo, it's the lower rusty thing that's seized and won't move .... The lower thing that the lower linkage cable Connects to.
So what's the issue?

That's the shifter arm that goes into the transmission, that should move by hand easily. If that shaft is not moving at all then odds are something broke inside the trans and is wedged against the shaft and or shift fork
