Smashed header

denting a primary tube is one thing, but it looks like that "collector" is restricting the top primary tubes quite bad. keep in mind that if you cant get rid of the exhaust it will drive cylinder temperatures up leading to detonation, and ultimately breaking a piston or hammering out a rod bearing. i would be cutting off that collector and building a new one.

Damn, I really need to learn how to read. Still, an lsj exh manifold isnt anything great in terms of flow. Gm stage 2 might be close/under his power level and stock manifold was always fine with that, no? Im definitely not as well versed with the lsj than you, but i still think OP would be fine to run the header how it is. Thats just my opinion.

like i said, it may not be the end of the world, but its not helping things. a stock manifold is nothing glorious but it has roughly equal flow for all cylinders, here you have 2 cylinders flowing well and 2 that are restricted. without seeing inside the header its hard to tell how restricted it actually is and how much an impact it will have on performance.
like i said, i wouldnt run it like that and id be cutting it apart and building a new collector.

The guy filming this hit me right on the pipe. The car doing the wheelie ia a Funco GTQ with a CBM LS7 stroked to 440 ci Whipple charged, race gas 1100 hp. We went from Glamis to Gordens well California is why its so smooth here. Sorry its FB.

If the dent does not hurt that bad then I could run this small runner genuine long tube header vs the 1.75” thats on there??. Do you think I’ll lose with this or gain from the tube length? I guess the question is would you buy another short tube pace setter 1.75” or this long tube?

You can grenade an anvil if you can’t set up a car and drive it. The 091 6 rib transaxle is my favorite. Its super light. The motor is perfect but the whole car is set up for the tranny. Lightened 930 CV’s, gear ratio that allows for 3rd and 4th gears. 1st and second are weak. I tune the coilovers so I can hit stuff fast enough to hold third, paddle tires are cut to spin at will, car is 1760 pounds wet with tools. Pro Am shifter and the right clutch. Brand new Boozer cromo chassis, Very trick 1.2:1 steering rack and toe out alignment front and rear. It turns on a dime and I don’t use a turning break. They are for pussies that can’t huck a car. If I ran a bigger tranny I’d need more power. I run with big heavy $80-210k LS V8 cars that break constantly. The hottest and fastest growing class of desert racers are the class 10 cars. Factory sealed ecotec 2.4 class. They weigh 2200-2500 pounds. They run the big tranny Class 10 Race Car | Alumi Craft Race Cars
The street.....? LOL
