Boost/tune question

So this is pretty straight forward, bought a 2010 cobalt ss and I believe it had a tune because it was boosting at 30-32 psi, well intercooler had a crack in it and boom the plastic part exploded, well I got an intercooler not made for the car and jerry rigged it and now it’s only doing 12 psi max, so question is if i buy a stock intercooler will it have to be retuned to achieve the 30-32 psi of boost or will it go back to that setting?

First get it fixed right with a proper intercooler, then worry about the boost. And who the hell runs 30 psi on stock intercooler. Previous owner was either on crack or threw that on too sell it. Id check what turbo it is as well, dont wanna be on 30 psi on stock k04. If I was you, id look the car over, fix what needs too be, find out what parts you have, then get someone to retune it. You don't know whats going on on that tune. Rather be safe then sorry

I would grab hp tuners and see what the tune looks like, if its a k04 turbo you want to run 22-23 psi max. Also do a boost leak down test. Its ok to run any intercooler you want as long as its not leaking and is at least 500 cfm.
