ok, before any1 kills me...it was a srt4. i saw the wing, the hood, the front end, the wheels. well, i'm sitting wit my boys hangin out in teh parking lot and i hear this car come flying down the street next 2 us. i look over and see this orange srt4...i mean neon . welp my bro tells me to go let him have it and so i took off in my car after him to race it. i finally get caught up to it and i nod over to him like i wanna bash and destroy his car. i heard this were kinda quick cars but my beretta has ran a 14.8 once but it usually runs in the mid 15s. i can beat most civics. anywayz we get to a light and i'm next to him, he nods back and we wait for teh light to go gren. it does and we off. i hear him spinning and i'm just gripping (i have kumho tires). i start to pull on him and then he starts to come back on me. i stay in it and my powerband kicks in harder. i look back and i'm keeping him behind me! after i about 50-60mph i shut it down. i won cause he didn't pass me but it was going to pass me but you know what they say its whoever gets there first .

my mods are custom intake, custom 2.25 exhaust, msd, NGK spark plugs, high performance plug wires and some other things.

 

A Berretta??? WTF? The kid in the SRT-4 obviously didn't know how to drive. Thanks for trying though. You might actually fool a couple of ppl into actually believeing your story Not me though - what's that smell???

 

i'm being for real. we only raced to 50-60 and he spun off the line. my beretta is slower i'm sure but hwere we stopped racing, i was ahead believe it if you want. i'm just sharing these cars aren't so big-n-bad

 

kumho tires...?? really whats the big deal.... they are dirt cheap tires, i'm not gonna say anything else though becuase you made it too easy to want to bash everything about that paragraph

 

bash on my paragraph? i ran him and won to where we stopped at. my kumho tires aren't cheap to me. they look good and perform good just not when wet and i hate it when it rains cuz kumhos aren't good rain tires. they are good for street racing 4 me cuz my car seems to hook hard on them without much spinning.

 

Totally believable. 50-60mph would barely be 330'. I've hung with cars that were a second or more quicker to the 330' mark, esp when they got a bad launch. I've even held off quicker cars to the 1/8 mile by getting a good R/T and decent launch. I have a slip here at work, he went flying by me at the 1/8th as I was trapping (at the time) 83mph (8.5 seconds w/ a .043 R/T) at the 1/8 mile and he trapped 90mph (8.2 seconds w/ a .381 R/T). And then he put a little over 1/2 second on me to the end of the 1/4 mile (13.5 vs 12.9)

 

I didnt doubt that he won or whatevr I was just thinking it was funny to be bragging about kuhmo tires.... and I thought he would get a lot more bashing for that paragraph... considering he touched an almighty SRT NEON

thx for believeing in me mchat. i don't know if it would of beat me in the 1/4 tho because he wasn't gaining 2 much grnd 2 fast on me. i may be could of held him off more. may be he is a bad driver but i'm not teh best either so it was fair heads up. i think my beretta could give him a good run for his money. may be next time i will carry some $$

whats wrong with kumho tires? all the guys around here have them. they are nice tires. have you seen the new colored ones? when you do a burnout they smoke colors and stuff. kewl and neato stuff in those tires. those are what I want next if i get my SS.

 

You say that they aren't that "big or bad"....race them for a distance farther then your front door to the mailbox and then brag about beating a faster car. If it was a SRT as soon as he picked up traction he should have started to close the gap relatively fast. But you say you won so ... congrats. As far as bringing money next time, just remember it is a faster car and you would more than likely loose that gas money to someone who knows how to drive.

 

well, idunno. like i say, he didn't pull 2 fast on me but it was coming around. once i saw him coming around me, i shut off hehe. so i won who got there first. i think i might try to race 1 at the track and show them my old school car is still a competeing car to him if they aren't careful. i know they are faster but i don't think they will really start 2 pull on me too bad until say after the 1/4. idunno tho.

The "SXT w/ SRT apperance" is an option from Dodge to get the exterior upgrades to appear like the SRT-4 Neon, but it's really an SXT under the hood. I believe that's a new thing for 2005 and of course, anyone can put an SRT-4 styling on even a base Neon w/ the right Part#'s. Unless you know the person or have them show you what they're packing under the hood, any car can be another under the hood.

 

Trust me. After the 330' mark it'll pull on ya pretty hard, unless the driver hasn't a clue how to drive.

There are subtle differences in the appearances between the two, however.

You said you run mid 15s usually, meaning if you were on the street thats most likely what you would run, and the fake SRTs are neon RTs and those are good for a mid 15.. so either way you are a *** for pretending to be cool and only racing till 50 mph LOL! what a joke

 

Racing till 60 isn't really a race, that's merging on to the highway.

It takes 5.8 seconds for an srt4 to get to 60.

 

SXT's w/ appearance package are more likely to run a mid 16 to 17 flat stock. None of my 3 first gen R/T's ever ran better than a 15.7 stock and that was with a 2.1 60ft.

hey buddie i was the one out front of him when i shut down the race, not him. i'm no gay but i am a kewl guy. whats wrong with racing until 50. i didn't want to get a ticket so i didn't want to speed over the speed limit.

Wyandotte is where i live with my granpappy. i'm not afraid to race anyone. doesn't matter if i lose or win. you could be next hehe i got $$$. my beretta is all black with black beretta wheels.

 

So, to sum it all up:
You raced and beat an SXT with the SRT-4 Design package on it.
