I was on my way to ship out a package to a customer, when I cruise by a type-s. All of a sudden he speeds up to my back bumper and sits there a minute, then he speeds up beside me. I heard him downshift, and kept cruising next to me. So I downshifted 2nd, and we were off (started at 50mph). I pulled on him pretty easily, to my suprise. By the time I reached 70mph, i was already 3 cars ahead, and pulling more. So I slowed down, thinking maybe he quite racing real quick. I heard him downshift again, and so did I. We started again at 50mph. This time, though he got the jump, and I didn't even hit the gas until he was about 1.5 cars ahead. And when i did, same story, I walked him pretty steadily. I knew he was racing cuz as i was passing him, i heard his engine screaming. i shut down about 80mph, and was again about 3 cars ahead. After the race,his window went down, and saw the kid an another guy in the car giving me the thumbs up. They asked how much torque "those things put out", and I told him over 200. Then he said "damn, that thing's got some get up and go." I told him thanks and we parted.

On my way to work later on, I passed an SRT-4 that was stuck in traffic in the lane next to me. After he saw me pass, he actually pulled himself out of traffic to chase me down So he chases me, riding my ass, so I pull over a lane, and I see him pull ahead of me, and i hear a mean sounding "Pssshhh..Pshhhh" wastegate going off. And when his back bumper was near my front, he hit the gas. I tried to catch him, but no way in hell. I think he woulda beat me anyways, but the guy shoulda "manned-up" and at least lined up beseide me before taking off. He had the stock rims, and atock ride height, so i don't know of any mods other than wastegate. It was black, and of course, it was some young kid with his hat sideays driving it So to top it off, he gives me the arrogant "bye bye" wave as he took off.

 

Yeah man, nearly 90% of SRT-4 owners are all losers..

I seriously love the SS...if they were out 2 years ago when i bought my srt-4, i would of most likely bought an SS. just awesome cars, i'm so glad my brother got one.

You know... When I was back in Michigan I knew a bunch of SRT4 guys and they were all cool as hell... Super nice.. loved to talk cars.. respected other peoples rides...

Since Ive moved back to Phoenix (about 6 months ago) Ive ran into 4 or 5 SRT4 guys... and they are all DICKS ! 1 when I was driving my SVTF..... We were racing around a little bit on the freeway (I knew I would lose....).. Getting next to each other at about 55... Up to 80ish... After a couple times... He rolls down his window and yells "Your cars retarded"... geez thanks.... Another actually happened a couple days ago I was at Cactus & Tatum and a white SRT4 pulled up next to me with his windows down... So I asked him if he wanted to go... That I was curious how I would do even though he would probably win... and Im not kidding you.. he says "I wouldn't waste my gas on your piece of ****"... Then rolls up his window...

At this point I just want more power so I can put down so of these dicks... I think im gonna make it my lifes mission to be faster then SRTs !

 

I think it's a rebellious thing with srt-4 guys. they know that most females, and society in general think their cars suck ass. They don't care if they're fast, or what not not. People say "it's a ******* neon!" So because of this, they feel they have to prove that they are "tough,and cool" and spend dickloads of money on their cars to make them beat expensive cars. Which is cool and all, but in the end, the poor srt-4 won't have the respect it's looking for. It has respect in the underground, but to the general public..it's just a neon, and that's all it will ever be.

BTW, what I wrote is not my opinion. It's the opinion of the majority of everyone I know and talk to's opinion. But for the record, my mom thinks they're cool! So i guess one female likes them

Well, if we're only dyno'din in the 180's, then all these cars I'm beating are overrated.

 

Dyno numbers are at your wheels. Therefore, a safe 12% drrivetrain loss you'll end up with 200+

 

my experience with almost every srt owner has been that they have really thick skins because they have been the only domestic car in this market and they have been getting bashed by hotrod owners that don't understand that the sport compact market is huge, and these cars actually have some go. when we talk to those guys, they are still in defensive mode and don't understand we suffer the same things when the stangs and such when they bash our bobalts.

all of the srt guys i have talked to in person have been great, just the select few on the internet that troll and such. but trolls own all types of cars

 

i use that excuse quite often. i dont feel like pushing my car hard and having to fill up in another 2 days..so unless i think it would be worth it, time, risk, and money, i will say that exact thing. maybe not int he same tone or manner, but still the same basic concept is the same "its not worth my gas."

excuse me? i dont know about you, but around here, my car gets a lot of looks. and a lot of them are from girls. and yes, i get a lot of compliments about my car. "nice ride. clean ride dude. sweet lookin car you got. thats cute/hot/nice/clean/badass! can i drive it?" just to name a few. many of them are while im at stop lights, minding my own business. someone even wanted to know where i had my 'custom orange' paintjob done..when i told him it was the special color of the 05's he was suprised, dont know why, he just was. i even had this 90 year old guy stop and stare at my car. it was like i rekindled his spirit, because he was talking about owning an old chevlle that he would keep as clean as i keep mine. and a lot of people i know, including myself, call it a neon. why? because it is. so referring to my car being a girls car and just a neon, is kinda stupid. so now, i guess when i start beating ss's that roll around here, i can say "HAHAHA...you just lost to a girls car...HAHAHA" yeah, i dont think YOU guys would like that too much, would you?


but i have never once thought i have had to prove anything to anyone, because of a freaking car that i own. that is by far one of the most retarded things i have heard. and im suprised that it came from you. i honestly am, becuase you have generally had an open mind about things in your posts. but for you to generalize every srt-4 into 1 group "i.e. the asshat group" is pretty shitty, and pretty stupid on your part.

but if you are talking about getting and wanting respect, try this story:

my first race, ever, with the srt, was against a z28 camaro. it was in a 45mph zone (we were going about 35-40) around 10:30pm on a friday night. we both get on it , up to about 90-95, with him edging me out by about 1/4 of a car (i didnt downshift to 2nd). bout that time, a cop whips around, and pulls him over, but not me, so i keep going. i ran into the guy a couple weekends ago at quicktrip and this is all he said "hey man, remember me? we raced a while back and the cop pulled me over and not you." "damn..that sucks dude, im sorry" "nah, dont worry about it. he let me off when he saw it was my birthday. but hey, nice ride man, those things are pretty quick" "thanks, see ya round"

any typical asshat would handle that completely different. from both his point of view, and mine. so saying "the srt-4 will never have the respect it desires" is pretty freaking lame. but then again, so does owning a souped up cavvy, so take the lesser of the 2 evils.

 

I dont know about some of you SS owners but i didnt buy my car because i wanted girls to like it. I bought it because i liked it and i was going to be driving it. I could give two ***** what the guy next to me thinks of my "neon". Its only a neon untill it passes you, then its a SRT-4. Lame. BTW I get nothing but compliments on my car, even from people that dont know better.

I would have to say that probably 90% of them are ********. I have friends with them that are actually cool and I have friends with them that are stupid. A lot of people universalize them because of these people. But there are a select few that are cool. I know I would never make a comment like that to someone unless they pissed me off.
