Lets try again, Next Official OCC Meet Oct. 2nd

Well, Sept 25th meet was pretty much a wash. 4 of us met at the Location 1 Costco Parking Lot, talked for awhile, then left. Started to rain and there was no point going to Cayuga. SO we discussed meeting again in the next few weeks. We are going to try again on OCTOBER 2nd. I am going to make the suggestion of Meeting at Sherway Gardens which is at the 427/QEW. Great central place for both east and west enders alike, as well as anyone coming from the Hamilton/Niagara area etc. There is a big empty parking lot in the North West corner of the mall parking lot, across from the Acura Dealer.
Last time I met with the vette guys, we all cruised back to Hooters in Brampton for lunch which was a blast! If anyone is interested in this, start making a list, The weather is not getting any better guys.

Meeting time, 10AM, Depart at 12PM, cruise to Hooters in Brampton. I will need a for sure list as I need to reserve seats.

I'm glad I made the decision to not go to Cayuga this morning (we made a last minute decition last night to get up and go)...I woke up at 9 and looked out the window to rain and heavy fog. Roommate and I both got ready to leave but as soon as we started driving (I got to the 401) I realised it wasn't the best idea. I thought about pushing through anyways but I'd imagine if it's been raining all day there isn't much going on . Was disappointed the weather didn't work out but that's the chance you take at this time of year.

I got this map off Mapquest...I'm assuming it's the place you're talking about (in case you haven't figured it out yet I couldn't find my way around TO to save my life). If it is it doesn't look like I'd be able to make it anywhere near 10...I'd have to leave here around 7:30 to get there in time depending on traffic .

I'll come if my clutch pedal is fixed, I need to get my launches down better. I'll post up later in the week if the car is fixed.

Yeah its right at the 427/QEW interchange, I wish you were closer then London but what can you do! Maybe we should have a London Meet, make a weekend out of it sometime. I would be up for that. Any GTA's put your names down for Oct 2nd. However long it takes to get to Toronto, cut that by about 20 minutes if your coming from London. Basically come along the 401 to the 427, go South, get off on the Queensway, your at sherway gardens...

A London meet would be awesome as long as we could get more people out from the London area as well. It'd be a shame to see you guys make the trip and only one or two of us show up...in that case it'd be much better for me to make the hike than inconvenience the rest of you . KissMySS has mentioned getting a meet together on the London thread twice and so far the response hasn't been great. It seems to be due to everyone having conflicting schedules more so than a lack of interest but we can keep on tryin' .

I think the increase in time for the trip is because I'm in the far north of the city and have to get across town to the 401 which can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. I'm not real sure why Mapquest recommends I take Airport Rd either...I'd be better off taking Highbury if traffic isn't heavy since it does turn to 100km/h further south.

Hopefully getting the clutch fixed doesn't become a huge hassle...I can't imagine the dealership can find anyway to try to get out of it or claim abuse. At least your first run was strong before it started acting up .

I was at cayuga today. The track was bone dry the rest of the day from about 12pm. It was an awesome day. the fastest car there ran a 6.53 at 213MPH! I ran my car once and was not very impressed. Got a 16.5 at 83 MPH. ohh well, I guess it just leaves room for improvement .

Ok, as of right now, if interest in a meet picks up, I will consider making the trip down this Sunday since this could potentially be the last one of the year and I really want to get out to meet all of you. I'll talk to my rommate tonight and see if I can talk him into hauling his ass out of bed at 7:00 in the morning so we can get ready and hopefully leave sometime around 8:00. Having someone with me should make things a little easier because after about 30 minutes I tend to run out of things to talk to myself about .
Hopefully if traffic is good I could be there within the two hours but hopefully 10:30 at the latest.

Hopefully the long-term forcast is correct because it looks like we're in for a nice weekend...I don't know if I'd really want to make the trip in torrential downpours like we got from time to time this weekend somewho that runis the whole driving experience . I do plan on going to Waterloo on the Saturday so it'd be quite a bit of driving back and forth over the weekend but it would be well worth the trip. How much advanced notice would you need to make the reservations so I know what timeframe I'm looking at to figure everything out?

We could do that...if you can let me know what your plans are by Thursday or so I should be able to have things figured out by then. I've attempted to have people follow me up to Toronto before (we tried a 6 car convoy) and it ended up being a disaster trying to find everyone back...I vowed next time to just stay in the right lane at 120km/h because it's less hassle to find everyone back at the end! As for getting lost...I probably know TO about as well as you do...we'll look like a bunch of tourists pulled off on the side of the road trying to get directions .

KissMySS is going to get back to us later on in the week once he's gotten his pay cheque and things figured out with work so I think we were both hoping to have everything figured out by Thursday at the latest, especially since reservations need to be made at the restaurant. I could send you a PM on Thursday at some point so we can all decide on a place to meet...if I remember correctly KissMySS is down near Whiteoaks and I'm up on the far north of Adelaide just past the Home Depot so it would make the most sense to meet up near Whiteoaks since it's closer to the 401...I could either take Highbury to Bradley or take Wonderland down, I'm not too picky .

Don't worry you and I can lead the SS pack with our LSs ! Since you are close to the 401 and Airport road we could also meet there as well...KissMySS could hop on the 401 and I'll take Clark -> Airport Rd. and we would still be close to the 401. I'm the odd one out being in the far north so it doesn't matter to me either way.

Ya no doubt...I'm sure it'd get a few heads turning even if there was just the 3 of us...kinda hard to miss three similar looking vehicles right in a row .

1. Jason (05BlackSS)
2. Ang (2006ArrivalBlueSS)
3. Ryan (Permafried-) <-- Tentative (fingers crossed, knocking on wood, etc.)

No can do. thats my weekend to work. sorry guys.

BTW. Why not use the ontario OCC board to do all this planning?

If it dosn`t get used. i`ll have to take it down.

and the more traffic that flows threw that board the better it will look to potential members and sponsors.

Thats too bad, its always hard to accomodate everyone. Ever week longer we wait, the worse the weather conditions will be. cooler etc...

I think the only thing with using the OCC boards is a LOT of the Ontario members don't know about it yet...and since the thread about it slipped off the boards the chances of them finding it are slim. We almost need to have it stickied or a link to it somewhere that can constantly be seen for all Ontario members to get a chance to discover it.

Sorry to hear you can't come though...if everything works out this should be one hell of a weekend !
