Omaha's Annual Ice Cream Cruise 2012

Date - Saturday, September 1, 2012
Time – Car Show 4-9 – Cruise 9-10 – MAM 10-2ish
Starting Location - Werner / Storm Chasers Baseball Stadium
Ending Location – MAM Drag Strip

Ice Cream Cruise planning has been in full effect. A bunch of us sat down with the manager of Mid America Motorplex last night and it looks like MAM will be our end point this year. More details as they come. I will be updating this thread when we have new/more information. You can "like" the facebook page and join the event to stay up to date also. If you guys have never heard of this event, just youtube it. Help us make this years event the best to date. Hope to see you guys there.

THE 2012 ICE CREAM CRUISE DETAILS - We have secured a date with Werner's Storm Chasers baseball stadium for the beginning of the ICC this year on Saturday, Sept 1st from 3-9PM, the lot has 1,550 paved spots and 500 unpaved spots! (with overflow streets) This alone will make this years ICC run so much smoother than last year! To make things even more exciting, we have also started a partnership with Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, IA to end the cruise to give everyone a chance to race (until ~2AM) without being interrupted by the police (like the past few years). Not only will we be racing on the 1/8 mile drag strip, but a limited number of people will be allowed to street race on the 3/4 mile straight-away on the road course, this was a HUGE success back in 2003 and we know it will be again this year! HUGE THANKS to Roadkill & Tincher Auto-mall for their support in making this happen! These are just the high level details, we have many, many more surprises to come and know you'll be blown away by this year's ICC. Stay tuned! Aww, I did the ICC back in... 2007? I think, when I was still living in Nebraska.

Was fun, sorta crazy. Was at a Home Depot/mall parking lot, with a Sonic right there. Hence the Ice Cream part. Out on... Maple, I think.

I'll actually be back to visit that day (well, the next 10 days too), but I'm driving the DD Sonic home, not the Cobalt.

 

I am planning on being there with the MS3

 

I'll b there with my HHR SS. Never been to the cruise before but I've heared it's a lot of fun. The fact that we will b doing some LEGAL drag racing at MAM is awesome. Should be a lot of peeps from all over the Midwest goin. According to Facebook, there should be almost 2000 people goin. See you there. Sniper, what color is your MS3?

On another note, it is awesome to see some good interest here because on the Mazda forums I have no interest from anyone.

 

I could try to stir things up. Lol. I pissed off a few Mazda guys back when they had the forum war with 8thcivic.

 

Go for it! Its fun to see MSF.org get all bent out of shape. I hate it when people get so sensitive about their platforms.

On another note, I watched that FW episode a few months ago. What was with the 8th Civic Mugen driver? IMO it looked it wasn't his car and he borrowed it from another member. Another thing is that he didn't really know the car at all, but that is who 8th Civic chose to represent them. He may actually be a good driver, but unfortuantely his driver mod didn't show up that day.

Ive been trying to bait Mazdas to come play with Hondas, but I have had no luck lol

 

they dont feel like getting their butts beat. i had a race set up a while ago between a built ms3 with a gt3071. it had everything. guy was cocky as hell, so a ss/tc with basic bolt ons and a 75 shot beat him and i bet he spent wayyy less LOL.

 

Lol...those tc's with the twin scroll k04s are nasty! If only they didnt look and feel so.cheaply made, then I may have went from sssc to tc. It would be nice if that twinscroll was a direct bolt on for the ms3, but we can't run them without a bit of fabrication. Its just easier to run the gt turbos for my platform.

 

This is but days away.... tick tock tick tock. I hear the road course will be available too. I have not been able to research all the parameters though.

 

Wondering if the person racing the red SS running 11's is a member here, curious about what happened with that. lol

I liked the blue hahn cavy though.

 

Yeah, last time I ran my LS out ther I wan consistantly low 10's. lol Yeah, that Cavy was tearing it up! And that red supercharged Corvette, every time it went by whining I kept hearing kids say, "that thing's got a turbo!"
