I was about 205 when I could actually lift weights. 5'10. I dropped to 170 after hurting my shoulder and I hated being so skinny so I started working out after about a year of not doing it and waiting for my shoulder to heal. never did though so can't work out right..light workouts :/

I used to spend 4 hours a day 6 days a week in a gym. I was leg pressing 700lbs benching 300 doing 190 t-bar rows. I was in great shape. Never was cut but was solid. It was my life and I hated it. Life's too short to spend it pissed away trying to look like some GQ cover boy. Besides, I get laid just as much, if not more, now that I'm not in the gym and just don't care.
So I personally see no need for it.

Everyone works out to impress someone. Why do you think gym memberships and gym activity go up in the months before summer? It's so people look good half naked. I can tell you with 100% certainty that there's nothing healthy about being a gym rat. I blew my knee out in high school and then injured it further by working out the way I was. Now there are days where I have to wear a metal hinged knee brace because of it.
People say that working out is to keep you healthy, and to a certain extent they are right. But you can be just as healthy by walking and eating a good diet. Bulking up and working out to build muscle puts a lot of stress and strain on your body and eventually parts start to give out.

Well you won't have those problems if you work out right. I don't work out to impress people. I hate when people look at me. I never wear shorts. I don't like attention. And I didn't say be a gym rat. Going a few times a week is good.
And I refuse to be fat

Ya lol. My fear is to get fat. I started getting thick after hs. I was at 130 around December and I couldn't stand the way I looked so I lost 15 pounds. I want to lose about 5 more

Well I'm not gonna sit here and argue over it. I've got my opinions on it and you've got yours. I just know what I've seen first hand and the injuries I've witnessed due to weights. I'm not encouraging people to stop working out. I'm blessed. My metabolism is good enough that I can eat whatever I want and not gain weight and when I want to loose inches I can do that with ease also. Most people aren't so fortunate.
