My soon to be wife and I are looking to move here because she has employment opportunities. We are interested in learning about the area before hand. How is crime in fayetteville and surrounding areas? How is getting around and the locality of shopping centers? Is it more rural, or city like?

Its filled with Military, Charlotte isnt too far away nor is Raleigh. The beach is only a few hrs as well.

Crime isn't bad as long as you don't live or really frequent Murchison Rd, Bragg Blvd, or side streets downtown. Living there(around those areas) you better not have a nice car without it being an old school with gigantic dope boy rims. Otherwise you face break-ins. Don't waste time living in Spring Lake unless you get to rural areas, way too much ignorance there. Hope Mills isn't bad. Linden is very rural and aside from hunting violations not much crime... but all of this depends where you are from. If you are from a big city the crime here isn't ****, If you are from a small town(like my wife is) you will be scared to death of this place.

To go into more depth, she will be teaching in Raeford, so we are looking for somewhere in between there and Fayetteville. My employment is going to be a big part in our relocation, I specialize in automotive detailing, and want to go into service advising or parts distribution at a dealership. I figured Fayetteville will be where I end up working, we have no experience with there, and I have small experience with Concord and Charlotte. I appreciate the help so far and would love to speak with you privately to get some more information, thank you!
