So I took a new job and will be in Jacksonville starting June 6th. I will be working in the Jacksonville town center at Dick's Sporting good for 14 weeks but wanted to see how the car scene is in the area.

Also, I'm not bringing many tools along with me and will be ordering a timing chain tensioner because the stock one is a piece of crap and needs replaced. I'm looking for someone who works in a shop who can do it for me or someone who has done this before and can help me out.

I was ck out your car I like it i'm having my motor build . I'm new to alot of thing what is meth I see you are use 50/50 meth mix

 

I'm not a Cobalt person but a JBody. I know a few Cobalt owners. I sometimes go to that Dicks, so maybe I will see you around.

 

Meth is basically a 116 octane race fuel that when mixed with distilled water can give you both a cooling benefit as well as the ability to raise the timing in your tunes for extra hp. I hope I can come and chill with you guys once I get settled in!

I don't run my car at the track. Meth works fine for a daily driver, just make sure not to run out and you will be fine. The hp benefits are not huge but it does help you avoid losing hp in our hot fl climate. And I plan on going tvs soon and meth will make a world of diffedrence with that setup.

 

ok so should i do it then? while i'm spend money i'm just doing it all. i don't want to go back later cause i'll be sick when i'm done but i love it. i know i sound dum but what is tvs i don't know all the codes yet. i'm running 60 injecter will they and is the kit hard to install ? i saw a used one on the post or should i buy a new one ?

Install is not too hard and meth is a good idea but I know some people are hesitant. You will need a tune to run it though! And a used kit is fine as long as it comes with everything you need. And the tvs is an upgraded supercharger that they sell for our cars, it loves the extra octane that meth provides.

ok thanks, i know i will need some help . which meth setup are you using and mix i like to do it? your setup sound like what i like to run. i was looking at a post they where out there over my head. i like to get a meth setup on the way. how long will it last ? i no said not to run out , i take 6 hr trip sometime. i'm using 60 injecter will they work ? and Vince is tuning my car for me.

 

I have the devil's own base kit and it is set to go off at 10psi. The kit comes with a 3 and 7gph nozzle and I use the 7 but the 3 should be more than enough with 60lb injectors. My tank is 3 qts I believe and can last anywhere from a week to 2 months depending on how aggressively I am driving. Vince's tunes are ok and that is what I'm running now but I would highly suggest a custom tune because vince is very conservative and will make you run rich.

thats what i'm running now Vince tune he sent me a update so my car will run when i get my motor back. I have notice some like his tune and some just don't. are you going to stary with Vince ? I look at hp tune

I call devil's own and the said kit DVC - 30 Would work for i didn't order wanted to see which you where using then i will order could tell me which one you are using ? and will the 7 ghp be to much for my 60lb injecter ?

I'm going to get a custom dyno tune with my upcoming setup because my afr is like 10.3 at wot with vinces tune which is terrible. Ill send you a pic of my kit tom but it is mounted to the back of my subs in the trunk so I don't know if it will help. Actually look at one o my old threads with the title "took 2nd in car show" or something and there is a pic. 3gph should be plenty for you though.

 

is custom the same as hptune ? the lady at devil's own said to put the pump next to the tank . so should i look for someone from hp to tune my car ?

 

Yes. Hp tuners is just the name of the software used to custom tune. There are a few good tuners in florida that could help you with that. And yes you want the pump next to the tank like you could see in the pics of my setup.

 

ok can they send the tune like vince do or do they need the car ? there a guy in nashville tn about 2.5 hr away from me that do hptune. i saw a meth kit on ebay from aem . thanks for taking time to send me pic of setup and thanks for all your help.

i think i'm going to stay with vince till i get the car running and see what happen . plus i dont what to drive the car two hr on a bad tune . are you using a 2.7 pulley ? i think thats what i'm using i have a 2.7 & 2.9

 

Im running a 2.8 with 60lb injectors and the stage 2 belt right now. But def look into cooling mods up front. I am running a Heat exchanger, dual pass/option B, and meth to keep my temps down
