new balt owner in nc needs help/info

Hey yall. I'm obviously new to the site, and also new to cobalts. im just looking for someone close to wilkesboro that I could talk to about all the fun things you can do to a cobalt. I just bought a 2006 ss sc, sunburst orange. pretty sure it's all stock with the exception of some type of exhaust. previous owner bought it like that. I'm no gearhead, so im not trying to go to in detail with stuff. just basic ins and outs of stuff. thanks in advance!

thanks again guys. I guess my first question is: is there really a difference in brands of cai? ive seen them run from $70-300. will a cheap one hurt me? and does anyone know who can tune near winston or boone and what they charge?

I've got the zzp cai on mine and love it......and a pretty good price.

I tune, but I'm in Charlotte.....so a little far away from Winston.

Alot of people have injen CAI. Make sure u get a hydro shield for it so it doesn't suck up water in rain.

Intake is intake is intake, I had a K&N on mine. Do the basics, I had a zzp midlength header and dp(no cat) feeding into the GM Performance exhaust, I loved the sound. Had some rasp due to catless but not bad. A tune is definitely a good way to go too, really amplifies mods or even if stock it gives you some more go. Sunburst is a great tuner if you need.

If interested I have an NOS sniper kit for sale, over $500 when new, just asking $200 +shipping if need .

Not with a small shot, I ran a 35 on mine, just had it tuned for it though. I think up to 75 or so you are good. Not really trying to sell it to ya, but just putting it out there.

well see that's stuff I didn't know. I thOught unless your engine was built to handle it end up frying everything. I learn new stuff everyday on here. im thinking of going cheap and doing the airbox mod for now instead of a cai. lol lowes dont pay well.

That whine will get you laid. Welcome to the site. Many find that the airbox mod is sufficient enough to justify not buying an intake
