Alright guys my whole life I have driven mustangs. I have owned Cobras, Saleens, and ROUSH cars. I am tired of having those for daily drivers. I have been looking at the 2007 supercharged cobalt. Before I buy it I was wondering if everybody thinks I would be getting my moneys worth? Dont think I am one of those guys who is like all american muscle. I like diversity..haha thanks in advance for all the information and hope to be a proud owner. Oh..and i live in Sweetwater, TN 20 minsouth of Knoxville

You could get close, but you'd have to go with a turbo to get over methinks.
The best part is, with a little four banger, you don't need all that HP, it's all about torque and WHP.
Highly recommend the SS/SC for a daily driver.
If you wanted a really fuel efficient car, you'd probably want to settle for a
2.4l ecotec - 32mpg highay or a
2.2l ecotec - 35+mpg highway.
But to be honest, the SS and especially the SS/SC will be the most fun to drive with the sport suspensions

I should prepared to get flamed for this, but if your planning on pouring thousands upon thousands of dollars into your cobalt to get the maximum out of it, you probably be better off getting the 2.2l or 2.4l and putting in a turbocharger with all the periphrials, I think that you'd come out ahead at the very end.
But it's tons easier to spend a little less money and upgrading the **** out of a 2.0l supercharged, I just think that they'll top out before 300hp.
where's my flame suit?

Im not looking to do unGodly HP I figured if I got the SS/SC i would do the upgrades such as a listed earlier. I just didnt know if i would get 300hp or even get close to it. I done want to go Turbo. I want to keep the stock supercharger.

you live in TN right. in the city or out side or in the woods?? well i doesent mater just go to a local chevy dealership and test drive it the bit. but realy drive the car and yall love the sound she makes and how it feels. besides it still cheaper then your cobra in gas and in insurance. "thats my dollars worth"

doing ct's upgrades you will get you VERY close to if not right at 270whp which is obviously very close to 300whp. The ss/sc's dyno at an average of 216whp and 195ft/lb so they are under rated from the factory
no offense, but isnt the cobalt a step down in cars... considering that you have drive blown mustangs and such. those are really fast cars. not to say that the cobalt cant be, but it definately wont be the same rush. anywho. i have a ss/sc and its plenty of power for young teenager like me. plus it handles really well and gets decent gas mileage (28 mpg currently). happy modding man.

i say you wait until 2008 there gonna turbo the cobalt or at least make some changes to the engine , yea your gonna have to wait longer for aftermarket support considering the car isnt even out yet nor the engine plan but in the long long run it will be well worth it

end rant had to get it off my chest
Don't Get the GMPP Stage 2 if you want around 300whp its not gonna get you near that! Don't want you to waste money if you don't need to. GM stage 2 only comes with 42lb injectors that top out really quick and 3.0 pulley that,s not gonna be enough . I had to learn the hard way on that!
