advice & insight on Hahn swap

So im pretty close to purchasing the kit and was just wondering what else will need to be done, I've heard the alterntor needs to be switched because it spins the opposite way. Also any recommendations?

You can just weld the alternator I dont think you have to replace it. Are you doing any internal work? Pistons, head studs, springs, sleeves?

Well I would start thinking of that. More than likely depending on how much boost your running you will blow something.

I would have a tuner on hand I would not keep the canned tune.
Do not do the oil solutions by Hahn, it doesnt work from what I have read. Drill and Tap your pan.

tuned correctly, stock motors love boost. right around 11.3-11.4AFR and nothing more than 16-17* of timing on ~21-22psi keeps them happy

I plan on doing the kit, then tapping my oil pan, and not keeping the canned tune unless Hahn will adjust it to my altitude (5700). More than likely though i will be getting a good tune. Also i will only be running at 14 or 15 psi to start. First is first though, i need to get the kit, and see how it does, lol.

To everybody planning on getting the hahn kit. I have it. And i blew some **** up. Twice. I would mos def recommend arp head studs asap.also tap your oil pan also do not use the tune that comes with the kit. That tune is garbage. Have a good tuner tune your car. Also watch your boost. I was running mine at 22lbs with a stock lsj. It will go kaboooooooommm with the hahn tune. Just some advice.

Well lets just put it this way. My car paved the way for all the lsj balts to get converted to turbo. If you go on hahns website and got to the conversion section they'll be 3 balts. The very first one that is red and has a 360whp and 346wtq is my balt.

I had mine tuned to about 380whp and 380wtq with stock internals for about 10,000 miles and the only problem i had was the stock clutch. but now i have more power and a stronger setup

I have a 2.4 VVT with whats left of the hahn kit. I Did a bunch of better bolt on upgrades and 15 LBS of boost. A guy in my area tuned it with HP Tuners on his dyno and i made 345hp witch surprised me for only being a Gt28R turbo. Now junk trans.... Thats the only weak point Ive hit so far.

^^^^^^^^very nice DBLBOOST i wish i had your luck. Also the stock clutch is not gonna cut it. You'll have to get a upgraded one or aftermarket. The gm upgrade one aint bad thats the one im putting on mine.

if anything, these engines were designed originally to be turbocharged back when they were on a SAAB. GM bastardized them by supercharging it from what I hear. If this is true, then these engines will actually run more efficiently on a turbo.

I like my Clutch masters stage 2 and lightweight flywheel. Seems to hold up to the ECO's TQ.

No doubt they do fine, its about weather or not they were built on a friday afternoon or on a good day, and how the driver treats/works with his/her car. But did you guys use the stock clutch for a bit? cause i plan on using it for a little while but not permanently

i would do arp headstuds and clutch with a good tune. u don't have to do the valve springs if you don't want to that's just how i bought the motor. my clutch would not grip for **** in second gear i would just slip.

My stock clutch lasted for a bit, longer than I thought it would. Went to SPEC 3+ though. Works great. a little stiff on the knee in stop and go traffic. but it's not my daily driver...
