This is what he claims, but I'm thinking he raced a 2.4 NA model SS and not the SC. Even then, I still can't get a strait answer from him except where/when/ what he has on his car.

If I were still in Utah I'd roll down there with both of my Cobalt SS's (SS/SC & SS/NA sedan with 5-speed) and see what he's really got. Then let you know.

IMO, you got him. LSJ stock pulled 0.90g. Sway bars and coil overs would put him nowhere near you. Run him, just don't forget how to do an apex turn.

Haha Canyon driving is fun... I don't see how it requires any more skill than any other type of driving though.
I think the SS could take it stock though honestly. Even if it does outperform you handling wise, speed will set you apart from him.

Davin! Havn't heard from you in a long time!
I just wanted to say that this friend of yours seems arrogant enough to not know that the ss/sc did great at the 'ring, so great that the ss/tc did even better. Appearently he isnt that bright and in the process of just blowing steam up your ass. I don't think he has a chance!

Ok.... so suposivly he is racing a Black SS tonight.

"I am running a black slobalt ss tonight has gm stage 3 kit, headset and borla exhaust, lowering springs will see how he turns"
Is that anyone here on the forums?

"Lost him on the first few turns he cought up on the straighter parts but after the Las straight before the end he lost his brakes. He abused them too much"

I'm hoping that it was this guys driving that did him in, and not the car. But then again, when you do the same 'track' over and over, you should become a pro at it and know when and where to do the right thing.

Well I can say I'm a decent driver, but I could use more training...
I can't wait to shut him up.

Not much is happening here! the group disbanded after hard economical times. I try to go out every once in a while, but life changes when you have a wife and kids! Lol!
About this guy, he sounds like the typical honda ish talker that just doesnt know when to stop talking. Its people like them that I dont appreciate being in this hobby. I said it earlier, you have a couple of things over this guy, you should be able to handle him.

And dont worry about the radio, i seem to have ended up with a fiew of them!

Sure its the shittiest Si built, but at least he has focused on the shorfalls (handling) and appears to be a good driver. Ask him if he ever records any of his races. I know I have beat a SC with my Mazda3 2.3L cause the guy got wheel hop, missed a shift etc. I guess anything is possible. He caught up with me and was all mad and stuff. I told him to relax I know he would have smoked me, I have had the same car, and now drive a TC.

^ See, I wish some people werent like that ,getting bent out of shape over something so trival. I get walked by others from a dig, but I have to live with it and accept the fact that this car is fwd and requires skill to handle on any launch. Then again, I wish my car came with an lsd...

So I went to visit my brother in Queen Creek and ended up going to the Canyon last night. I didn't push myself for safety reasons, but i can see how some guys could mess up and get their asses handed to them. once i get more practice, i'll race.

Those things are **** in a straight line without significant mods. They're pretty capable in the twisties though.

I did a bad thing yesterday. I raced an 8th gen 4 door blue Si. Only known mod was a catcack but it very, very loud. He wanted to go from a shitty ricer roll from about 15 mph. I started in 2nd gear lol. He got the jump of coarse so he was probably feeling pretty good about himself until I hit my powerband and I shot past him like he was nearly standing still. He was frawning and I waved bye.

Don't get me wrong. I've been trying to con my wife into a used 4 door 8th Civic for a while. She's not having though. She can drive stick but prefers not to.
