Hey all....
Im thinkin about putting a black g5 trunk on my balt, but im a little iffy about it lol....ive been lookin for some pics but cant seem to find any. does anyone have this trunk swap? if so, please post some pics.

also, here's a pic of my car. maybe you guys can tell me if the trunk would look good.

Does the G5 have a 'duck tail' like the Cobalt- the little hump? It seems that the quarter panels' trailing edge have these humps above the taillamps as well to flow w/ the trunk. If the G5 does not have it, it might look strange having a flat trunk w/ humps next to it.

 

it looks clean but you gotta figure out what you wanna do about reverse lights. talk to will about it (gijoeg5) he lives in victorville

 

there exactly the same,the only difference between the 2 are tails and front grille

 

He hid them under the lip mesh. It's his g5 trunk I would put on mine. haha.

 

and the rear bumper, since it has the backup lights on it...

 

People have done it on here. Cant remember who though

 

the reverse lights in the mesh would look cool. do it wingless thought with the g5 lid

Im guessing either behind the grilles, the 3rd break light converted, or around the license plate

 

its a 2010 599 Handling GTE, btw.

 

Guy at CED did it to his tc. Also had g5 rear lights and keyhole delete, looked great.His name is panel something on .net

 

that guy panel swapped the rear bumper too not just the trunk. if youre getting wills just have him help you since you can see what his looked like

I always thought this idea was stupid, but to be honest - but it looks pretty ******* badass in my opinion. Maybe do a gen2 eclipse mod and put the round reverse lights in the rear bumper or something like that.

jacobrollins - if you do the switch and wanna get those reverse lights off your hands, I'll buy 'em off you. They are blacked out except the center right??

 

**** it do it i shaved the whole trunk on my cavy you dont need reverse lights i mean do they actually even light up anything ever? **** no lol id do it if i could find a red wingless g5 trunk

 

It looks kind of weird keeping the round lights in my opinion. The g5 lights 'flow' better with the lines that are already there.

haha no way maan unless you got led bulbs i drove that car 5 years with no backup lamps and never had a problem just made sure never to parallel park it haha
