nah its not true man. I SLAMMED on my brakes and they never locked up. in my SS/SC and my SS/TC

the only thing i've ever heard of is the anti-theft steering wheel lock when the vehicle is turned off. i've never heard of them locking while driving that would just be retarded as hell and a huge liability GM

maaaan, you guys need to get out of the socal section.
GM has a bulletin on it. Our electric steering motors are prone to failure. Its not an incredibly high rate (no recall issued), but it happens more than most cars would experience the issue.
