CAI for Cali...
CAI for Cali...
I am looking for a CAI system for my 2010 Balt SS that CARB approved for California. I know that i wont need smog for awile but dont want to change it later. All the ones I see are CARB approvbed are for the SS/SC not SS/TC.
That sucks. Maybe just buy a SC intake, take the stickers that go on the intake out of the box, return the intake kit and put on the right one for the TC with the stickers from the SC kit. Maybe the SMOG guys won't know the difference. Haha kind of ghetto I know but its worth a shot maybe. Too bad someone on the forum isn't a chill smog guy we could go to and get some ummm "special" considerations for us.
Well here is my answer. I guess to be legal I have to wait... Guess I will stick to gm upgrade for now.
"There is no intake manufacture that can CARB A 2010 model vehicle yet. California Air Research Board is not accepting any 2010 vehicles yet. Injen usually has most of their intakes CARBd way before any other intake manufacture does. I would say by the end of next year it should be CARBd"

From AEM website under the CAI for an 09 balt. Nothing even listed for a 2010 but sure they are the same.
"C.A.R.B. exempt or pending (see note below) for 50-state street-legal use
Notes
Emissions-related parts for new model year vehicles may be in "pending" status for C.A.R.B. exemption. Earning exemption status takes time, but will be complete before your new vehicle's first smog check."
I will just wait til they get approved. If I need work done I dont want to switch back and forth. I may change my mind though.LOL For now will do drop in K&N.
