How is that weak? The novas are relatively light for a classic muscle car. All u would ever need is a small block

not good for me

first run i missed 2nd and ran a 15.6
second run ran a 14.5
3rd run ran a 14.6

i dont know whats wrong, i ran a 14.3 before, and i just added header and custom 3 inch exhaust, and transmission mounts
i dont think my exhaust has enough back pressure. i should be in the high 13s
and my last run it felt like something was slipping in second gear, maybe my clutch or maybe tire spin, im not sure

Mods other than exhaust & mounts?

I ran 14.3 there @ 99mph - 2.2 60' (3" pulley, JBP HDR, full 3" catless exhaust, intake & ported blower, and a terrible tune w/ a pcv issue)

Tough track

Stock LSJs run 14.5-14.8 @ fontana

I ran 14.06 @ 104.16 w/ 2.286 60'. I had to let the throttle go on 2ng gear. Otherwise I probably would have had a high 13 on the board. The GMPP stage 3 PCM tune works very nice. I wasn't expecting that much mph.

Mods are air box mod with a spectre air filter, gms3 PCM + 76mm pulley & fidanza flywheel. My exhaust, manifold & DP are 100% stock.

i went to irwindale a couple weeks ago before my header and 3inch exhaust and ran an 8.9 in the 8th mile with a 2.0 60 foot, and yesterday my 8th mile times were 9.4 and 9.5 with 60 ft of 2.3, so i dont know whats going on

Maybe you need to retune? My car would usually does 9.1-9.2 at 80 - 81 mph at irwindale. My 1/8th at fontana was 9.1

I've been to Fontana 3 or 4 times. And thats what a stock lsj runs...

A box stock lsj w/ nothing but a retune can hit 14.2-14.5 @ fontana on 2.0-2.2 60'

A lot of the socal guys w/ TUNED/modded LNFs are running high 13s. I know of two with a local's tune who ran mid 13s.

Fontana isnt very forgiving... dunno what it is

------------

As for irwindale...

My 1/8th is always a tenth or slower at fontana, compared to a similar run @ Irwindale

maybe i need a tune for the new cat back and header i dont know, but i put a baffle in my exhaust earlier today to try and add some more back pressure and did a couple runs down the street real quick and it feels better, but i did one from a launch and shifted to second and nailed it and it felt like it was going no where, so i think either my clutch is starting to slip or i got bad heat soak or something im still confused

That's me. Fontana track prep blows. Get your launch down and you'll run better times. I'm hoping for low 13s the next time I go.

With the right launch, I think your can hit a low 13 and trap over 110.
