Yea man I know what you mean. I have had most of my bigger mods done by a muffler shop, but the small things like painting stuff I have done myself. Painting my calipers took some time, but they came out great. Its satisfying to do your own work, you appreciate it more.

If you don't have a High torque impact I have a very simple solution:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...Picture055.jpg

You take the 13/16 1/2 in" drive spark plug socket and remove the rubber thing from inside of it.

Then you a 3/8 extension in slide the 13/16 socket onto the extention.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...Picture054.jpg

Now you put your 3/8 T45 or T60 Torx head on the 3/8 extention.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...Picture070.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...Picture069.jpg

And your done you now have a tool that will hold the Torx head and allow you to break the strut nut free.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...p/IMG_0097.jpg

Once the nut if broken free you can use an impact to finish removing it.

That's how I did my Sportlines.

I hope this helps.

haha quite an interesting picture... i would definetely enjoy the write up if you did one! and I used VHT nightshade and i did only 2 to 3 light coats followed by 2 to 3 heavy coats of acrylic clear coat. the light smoked effect was what i was shooting for and i think it came out pretty well. matches the car fine!
