Possible move to SoCal. Got some ?'s

What's up guys. Got some questions for ya. I currently live in NJ and it's magical as you can imagine (haha). But I've been thinking a lot lately and I'm starting to seriously consider moving to the San Diego area. I'm actually here right now on vaca visiting family and I was talking to my aunt a lot about it and it's actually not too far fetched for me. I don't really have a whole lot keeping me in NJ right now as a lot of family has moved. And I'm not going to school this semester (junior in college), just working full time to get some cash. I'm thinking of transfering out around SD and kinda starting over. Long story, but that's the gist of it.

So I wanted to know from those of you in the area, what do you pay for apartments (and how big is your place)? All I'd need is a 1 br, since for now it'd just be me and my gf.
And this is kinda weird, but you guys with ss/sc's, how do you not destroy the front lips of your balts out here, the drains and dips are killers even on my aunt's pt cruiser.
And how bad is insurance.
And do you have any local school recommendations (thinking county college, then going from there).

Kinda random stuff, but just lookin for some answers from people actually in the area. Any other info would be good too.

Thanks guys

1. i left when i was 18, still lived with parents, but rent is pretty expensive. 1600 for a small apartment is fairly low.

2. ive never had issues with drains/potholes, i guess i just grew up with a watchful eye for them, but in all honestly they're no worse than any other cities, probably better, because we don't have to deal with plows and stuff in the winter.

that's all i have, unless you have other questions.

What kind of restrictions do they have? I've heard general stories, but nothing specific about rules.

Wow, $1,600 is a lot.

The hardest thing is going to be working enough to pay for a place but still being at school full time.

as far as the 5-0 here goes and modding your car just keep it registered in jeresy or outta state that way you dont have to worry about emissions

they've got tons of restrictions, but like someone said above, if you keep it registered to jersey, you'll be good to go.

and to tell the truth, as long as you pass smog, which will be hard unless you know someone, and most of the SD crew do, you'll squeak by.

I have all the mods in my sig and I'm thinking about going with the tvs, meth, h/e, 60's as the next major things.

Yea I figured if I moved out there someone can probably hook me up. I can only keep it registered in NJ for so long though. It would be sweet to drive around with my NJ plates in San Diego though haha

True. I wanna move out there bad (have for a long time). Hoping to do it "soon", maybe by spring/summer. Biggest issue is going to be finding a job out there that pays fairly well.

Right now I'm a delivery driver for Red Bull. I'm 20 and only 2 years into college. This semester would be the start of my junior year, but I wasn't doing to well so I just wanted to take some time off and work and get some money (aka parts since I'm becoming a mod *****).

Ok well looking at ur sig and wat u want u really dnt have anything illegal. The only issue u will run into is passing smog and exhaust dba. The GMPP exhaust meets the 95 dba level in cali but since u have the header and DP and **** i dnt know if it will make it too loud. Nice thing about pulleys and injectors is cop has no idea what he is looking at. For god sakes the CHP officer asked if my SC was an aftermarket T/C.lol. On the exhaust I would have it ran when u get out here by the ref. It's free and they can tell u if it's over and give u a little sticker for the next time a cop pulls u over. If it's too loud u can add another resonater but i doubt it. 95dba is a lot louder than most people realize. The Injen is C.A.R.B. approved so just get the E.O. number from they. They halo's at least mine are along with the H.I.D.s are D.O.T. approved. Meth is tech. legal in cali but u will get harrased for it and writeen a ticket probally in which case u just go to the state ref. Dnt get me wrong u will get harrased by all the cops for these parts but they r legal the only issue is u passing smog

^^Okay cool, that's actually pretty much what I was figuring, but I'm glad it's confirmed. And if something were up with my car I'm sure you guys out there would know someone who could help me out with a temporary fix or something.

I wish it were that simple. I work for "Victory Beverage", the company who distributes Red Bull (and a bunch of other stuff), not for Red Bull itself. Our company is only in my tri-state area, not national unfortunately so I'd have to find the company out there who distributes it and talk to them. I'm definitely considering it though. It'd just suck having to learn a route where I have basically no damn clue where I am haha

Any other "no experience required jobs" out there that would bring in at least $2,500 per month?
