Question about California Traffic Enforcement Regulations

I know that in numerous states a cop shooting radar has to be visible to the traffic he's targeting for a certain distance. Is there a rule like this in Cali?

im not sure i quite understand what your saying... but they usually hide around curves/bends or at the bottom of hills... so id say they only have to be visible to know that theyre getting u

radar shoots a wide spread at bout 40-60 yards iirc not really to accurate , laser on the other hand is shot more like a gun they have to point it right at you but accurate much further

i believe by law they have to be visible to issue a ticket, i mean they might issue one anyways but if hes hiding then you can fight it same goes for a night situation lights on the squad car have to be on, at least parking lights

I just know that in AZ or some state they have to be visible for something like 200ft. Just wondered because I saw a cop hiding beside a building so you only saw him once you were parallel to his position.

Well, since radar and laser are line of sight, i would imagine to even shoot you he's going to be visible...

Well, that's where it gets gray steve. The gun has to be within line of sight, so TECHNICALLY it's visible.

I doubt that's going to save you from a speeding ticket.

Regardless, you were speeding, you were in the wrong, you deserve a ticket. Simple.

If you are caught with any type o jammer or veil. Its considered a felony. Ifva cop is pointing his laser doesn't pick u up till 500 feet. He will know something is up considering lasers can pick u up from over a mile away.

In CA u have a right to know when u under surveillance. Hence why radar detectors are legal. But that stuff is tech considered evading police. Please someone correct me if im wrong .

you are 100% correct.. in a way its obstructing justice because you're preventing them from catching you
better radar is Beltronics thats wut i have and i think it was like $400 or $500
it may not be as "AMAZING" as the valentine but its certainly good
and laser detectors are useless..
being as how the gun is a finer point than a radar gun, by the time the laser detector finds the laser...
The cop has you and game over
its sad that i know all of this
2 tickets both laser
