Ralliart with injen cai
So this guy has a new ralliart and says that all he has is a cold air.. i race him from a 40 roll and he beat me by a 1 1/2.. i definitely know how to drive my car but he still won...is this possible or if he lying up a storm...any suggestions??

yeah i looked that up too but still no way he is pushing more than a stock cobalt ss/tc..even from a roll.. thats our game and he still pulled...im guessing he has boost controller?? ohh and i apologize on the second vid i started off in 3rd my fault lol

I saw this thread and just HAD to respond. I have an evo X. all i have done is an upper intercool pipe, an intake (not cold air), and a base flash from AMS. I'm sitting at around 300awhp right now, even with stock exhaust. Chris at AMS told me the way my car sits now, my car could pull a 12.9-13.0 in the 1/4 with a hard launch. Pretty impressive for a mostly stock car.
The only time i ran my evo at the track, I didnt launch it (my time slip proves i didn't launch it hard, 2.45 60' on an evo is horrible) and i ran a 13.8 @102. Not bad. Proves my car is decently quick the way it is.
I ran into a new ralliart a couple weeks ago. He has a borla exhaust (dont know about a test pipe, hfc, etc.) intake, and a base flash from AMS like i have. with those mods, he's only putting down about 265-275ish to the wheels. All ralliarts come with 6 speed auto w/ paddle shift. A big difference between the ralliart and the evo X MR is that the ralliart doesn't have launch control. the ralliart launches like most automatic cars, no crazy 5k rpm evo launches or anything. it has the same block my evo does, but it's detuned and has a slightly smaller single scroll turbo....my evo has a bigger twin scroll. OK...on to the race results. From a dig, i launched my car the same slow/safe way i did at the track, and he beat me by a car length (not worth beating on my clutch). so if i did a similar launch as i did when i ran a 13.8, that puts him in the mid 13s range. We then raced from a 20 roll. I took him by a car and a half. So, had i actually launched on him from a dig, i probably would have had about 2-2.5 car lengths on him, which would be about right.
My point is, that in my experience so far, the ralliart reminds me a lot of the cobalt SS when it came out. It was very under-estimated on the streets. Also, keep in mind the ralliart has a similar twin clutch 6 speed auto that the evo MR has, so it's very precise, quick, and smooth. And, with 6 speeds, they have it geared really well for acceleration as well as cruising. The new ralliarts are no evo, but they hold their own. From a roll, the ralliart lost to me by a little less than my buddy with a stage 2 ss/sc w/ exhaust and intake, it was surprisingly quick. I definitely didn't destroy it like i thought i would.

yeah i did from 2nd to 3rd but he was still pulling.. he says hes stock besides the cold air but i dont think an intake can improve that much you know

hmmm.. true... i still cant believe he won.. my friend has a sedan ss/tc and beat him by 3cars like a month ago and hes stock too..then again that was before the ralliart had a cold air... and thats true too theres no clutch involved so timing is perfect on those cars.
yeah i did from 2nd to 3rd but he was still pulling.. he says hes stock besides the cold air but i dont think an intake can improve that much you know

Yea I know the guy with the rally art it's stock except for the CIA I whoped him from a 40 roll I know the guy is stock cus he tools in my crew lol I can get him from a dig as well but if we go from a 20 roll he wins. Lol but yea I don't know what happened

based on the race results. seems like he had a CAI and a flash. The CAI by itself will be good for about 10hp max. I felt a difference in my evo when i did my intake, but not 2 car lengths worth. It seems more like a CAI and a flash. pretty much any base flash you put on a ralliart will make a night and day difference. AMS lists their ralliart flash at 50AWHP and 50AWTQ over stock. not bad for a $500 flash. Pricey but worth it.
Evo X's dyno about 245whp stock. When my car was bone stock, i lost to a stage 2 ss/sc with full exhast and intake from a 40 roll by about 1 carlength. after my AMS flash and my intake, we did the same roll, and i pulled nasty and got 1.5-2 cars before we shut it down. These new mitsu's have such garbage stock tunes,exhaust, and intakes....a few hundred bucks makes them move. the ralliarts and evos both pull like beasts compared to stock after a flash.

I'm not saying he HAS a tune. I said it seems as if he does. In my experience, that car should not move that fast with just a CAI. A flash would put him up to those performance levels. Then again, i beat an ss/tc with my mostly stock ss/sc before i even got my stage kit. I dunno.
