oh come on, are you splitting hairs now?

last time I checked, to get from LV to LA (going south out of LV) you needed to take the I-15;
Now, if that stupid vegetation checkpoint(?) is actually on I-15 or not, you got me ~ but I'm pretty sure everyone knew what I was talking about...

Mapquest link of my aprox route

Damn, Aaron got told. By a Canadian! hahah, Don't worry man, Mofofernando is a really chill guy, and i'm sure he was laughing while he typed that, and meant it mostly as a joke.

that's cool...

I've noticed that with the odd exception (normally only members who don't own Cobalts), everyone here seems to be pretty cool...

there was one member 72nova somtheing or other who tried to tell me I knew nothing about musclecars - so far he's come off as the biggest DB... little did he know what my first car was (which I still own):

so yeah, I might know a thing or two about musclecars too...

btw, I have a picture of one of my Firebirds at a "donut derelicts" meet ~ iirc that was in huntington beach...

It was meant as a joke **** haha and I know what check point you're talking about I usually go through that area at night since there's less traffic. Is that the donut shop off of 6th right across the street from the pier I can't remember if they have a big enough parking lot there or not so it may be a different one

Nah, not across from the pier, its a donut shop around the corner from my house. Like 200 classic cars by 7am. It's rdiculous.

Well if you want to be specific...the I-15 does not go to the city of Los Angeles, or LA County at all.

But he is right on your way back from vegas there's a few signs that show the distance left to La while on the 15 which I've always seen it and been like why is that on there the 15 doesn't hit LA. Oh well when you come visit let us know maybe we can have a mini meet

I had actually arranged to meet a local Pontiac collector there - he brought out one of his uber-rare cars for me to see...

I knew it wasn't technically LA that I was entering, and I knew I turned off I-15... but crap... "pot-ate-oh" / "pot-at-oh"

I'd be up for a little meet... but if it doesn't work out, that's cool too.

I was last there in November (flew in for a funeral), and including my last visit, I cannot say with certainty that I've seen a single C-SS around there...

Then again the Redondo/Hermosa area is totally different than Huntington or even OC... at least that's been my impression.

There are actually not that many, and most are active here. The SS's didn't sell well in California for some reason. The best place to look honestly is near military bases

that brings up a good question.... why didn't the Cobalt SS work out in Cali?

is it because Honda have a big fan base or too many latinos that dont like American cars like all my friends..

All of the SS's I see aren't active members on here, so there are other ppl out there who don't post. I think the fact that dealers hardly had any is the main problem...DeLillo only had like 3 08's up until they started getting the 09's in, one of those being mine.

I believe it has to do with the California emissions laws to be honest. the cars had to be ordered with some kind of california emissions package. Not sure what's different, but it discouraged a lot of dealers from carrying them.

They had 3 on the lot last week when i was up there haha. But yes, i do see a few that aren't on the forums, but there aren't too many. I know Ion Redline sales accounted for 2% of all Ions, not sure on the SS percentage of Cobalts.

I only saw 2 last time I was there, and that included the one on the showroom floor. There just aren't that many made period.

Yeppp. I would really like ot see a compiled list by color of SS's made by year.

# of Black 06's
# of Yellow 06's
# of Blue 06's

etc...

No idea where to find that info though.

I know that not many dealers had them in stock... i guess the good part is that not many ppl know about the car and want to race... lol

also glad that I know I can pull up to a light and the car next to me dont look the same.. unlike hondas..
