I got a ticket last nite for a modified exhaust in ontario. It has a sticker on it so i guess that means i cant get it written off. SO anyone have any advice of what i should do?

sticker, what do you mean by sticker eric. and do you still have a cat? what DB reading is your car at. I wish i knew the cali modification laws better.

Do a sound test on it and contest it. CHP clearly states the MODIFIED EXHAUST IS NOT ILLEGAL. If the Exhaust is ridiculously loud, then that is wats illegal. But you can do a sound test on the exhaust and prove that its not loud or illegal. You have to stay below 95 DBs, the test will be held outdoors with the mic i think 3 ft away fro the exhaust and rev the car to 3 rpms in neutral. if you pass you present it to the court and they write you off. Take it to a shop to have it tested. 95 dbs is like a 5 hp lawnmower going off, i think your exhaust stays just below 95 eric

lol ok so try to put the stock exhaust back on and beat it... But i am gonna have to remove my intake and put a stock on back on... He put the car was not CARB legal too

 

go throw a resonator in and call it a day.

dnt listen to alex eric. I have the laws right hgere in front of my and i have gone through this before.they rev. it to 2/3 of max rpms. My GMPP measured a 94 there is no way u will pass. as for the header it is not c.a.r.b. legal. Only c.a.r.b. legal header for the balts is the pacesetter which i have.lol. U can weld in a resonator and hope that quiets it down but i dnt think it will quiet it enough. As for the sticker and says not c.a.r.b legal u will have to put stock parts back on before u go to the ref. Unless the raw is c.a.r.b legal which i dnt beliueve it is. Sorry man cali is the pits but trust me i was an explorer and i have taken my vehicle codes class and have researched this all. im right ok? and u didnt write back to ur pm

also eric just to warn u if u get pulled over again and it hasnt been taken care of yet if u have a dick cop he can tow ur car. tech. it is a moving violation to drive a vehicle that has a fix it ticket on it without getting it fixed

 

Really I tested at 88, im good, but you honestly think his exhaust wont pass?
