I have a 2010 ss/tc..got the aem intake and the charge pipe about 3 months after car purchase last jan. Here is where the problem comes in. This is what happen. Was driving normal about to shift into 3rd heard the turbo spooling up and then heard a loud pop noise. Not sure what it was. Have about 17250 miles on the car. Drove the rest of the 1/4 mile home. The turbo doesnt spool any longer and just goes up .1 boost. Any help anyone. going back to completly stock and taking it in

 

are those ur only 2 mods? are u tuned?

 

yupp thats all i have done to it, and no not tuned was going to get that done as soon as i got the down pipe and full exaust done next month or 2.

 

if u put it back to stock i dont see a problem with the dealer taking care of it

 

Sounds like charge pipe blew off lol look under ure hood...

 

ya i hope so man. would you have any idea of what it might be. im thinking the turbo is out but idk.

 

danny im pretty sure the charge piping wasnt tight enough on there. pop ur hood. the charge piping blew off. im almost positive.

if not. could of broke ur intercooler. but not the turbo. last thing i would think is the turbo.

If you would of blown your turbo it would be smoking wouldn't it?

When a turbo goes out u wil hear grinding and u could more then likly see metal flakes in ure oil. And somtimes wjhen a turbo goes out u can take the intake off the inducer and spin thr shaft to see if its bearings ect.

If possible pop ure hood to verify for us. Move ure charge pipes to see if they are still on.

 

i checked the charge pipes they look to be on there okay. but there is a screw of some sort near the turbo that just doesnt look right. it looks like it came undone or something

 

K someone needs to check it out.

I still say somthing came off. It coud be intercooler. Tonight when checked.verify the shaft spins freely. And make sure maf is correctly put in and all charge pipes are tight and intake is tight.

i was gonna say a charge pipe but i figured that would be obvious to check at first...i would pretty much its a pipe blown off

Also forgot to mention that the check engine light finally came on lol.

I got some good news. Didnt get to fix it last night, but i found out what it was. You guys guessing it was the charge pipes were correct. The bottom of the hose heading to the intercooler was on there but the clamp was not. All i did was stick my hand down there checked and it was connected but like i said the clamp was gone and would just pop right out. Hopefully the rain calms down a bit and i can get to that tonight after work. I miss my car already haha. My gf's altima isnt working for me. Haha. Hopefully just have to clamp it back down and disconnect the battery to get check engine light out of there as well. Thanks everyone for your inputs and suggestions.

Lower hot side pipe for me. Could feel it by putting my hand down there from the top.
