lmao, they pulled me over because of my license plate lights and how they werent allow to "project to the rear of the vehicle" even though he told me this is why i was originally pulled over AFTER everything had been inspected.
he found it under my catch can, dude must have had eagle eyes cuz that ****** thing was hidden pretty well. he asked me what it was and i played the innocent i dontknow what it is sir?! role. so he had no idea or his partner, so they called another squad car and so on. after all was said and done i was still issued a ref citation. this was all on those bullshit SD operation crack down days... 7 of 8 cops who were specialy trained to look for stuff like this had no idea what anything was under my hood... haha CA cracks me up
he also asked me if i had any drugs in the car and that he could make them disappear... so i told him no i dont do that **** i'm in the military and he looked at me and scoffed... dude was a straight *******.

if i get my hood popped gonna be pretty hard to convince them my 4" intake pipe is stock (although it does go in a stock airbox) and hopefully they wont see my lts lol

nah they could care less about catch cans. they only care if it has anything to do with modifying your emissions, basically go fast parts.

as long as they dont hear my car they prolly wont give me a second look its a white suv with stock cat-back and no stupid stickers or nothing so im gonna keep knocking on wood i dont get messed with i dont want to pay to uninstall my headers/cats to pass a stupid test that no other state cares about really. california isnt gonna save the planet let alone the fact that the planet is fine and theres no global warming its just normal stuff that has happend for yrs

i love how we care so much and no1 else does yet we keep getting stricter and other states just let ppl do w/e they want. still dont get the reason y 75 and under cars dont matter they are way worse for the enviroment than a car with an intake or dp

if it makes you guys feel better i got a ticket 9 minutes into christmas for having 1 out of 2 liscense plate lights out. I figured it was gonna be a verbal warning but nope now i gotta drive back out to suffolk county to show them its changed.

yet it smells HORRIBLE and can see exhaust vapor
though i can pass smog on just running a straight downpipe and no exhaust vapors vissible or smell weird
but i put the stock cat back on cuz its beat to hell and i love it
Same thing with the exhaust noise laws. If its after a certain year and under a certain weight it has to be under a certain decibal doesn't make any sense. A harley probably registers at around 110 to 120 while my old exhaust was 102. But I'm the one making too much damn noise.

those sound laws dont matter anyways, its illegal to have any type of modified exhaust anyways legal or not dont matter. neighbor was chp and i asked him wat he could get me on with my cobalt and he said right away exhaust even tho then all i had was muffler i said thats legal and he said dont matter modified is modified still illegal

It is not illegal to have any type of modified exhaust it even states it in the ca vehicle code. It is illegal if the intent is to make it louder. The code kind of beats around the bush a bit but there is nothing in it stating that you can't have a modified exhaust it just has to meet the sound requirements. As for header and downpipe I'm not sure cause I didn't look into those.
