Yes, it shortens the throw in the SS/TC as well.

Question: On the M1 Abrams shift knob, i wanted to purchase a weighted one in black without any engraving on it, as i wanted to engrave it myself. Is the black one just a painted stainless steel so if i were to engrave it the paint would chip off and ruin it?

well how comfortable are you with taking apart plastic lining and unscrewing a few bolts? The hardest part was getting the stock knob off. It was pretty stuck on it. But I would say this was about a 3 on the difficulty scale. But it did take some time. Just don't rush yourself and lay everything out. Read all of the directions before you start, then go for it. You won't regret it!

Wow guess I was a few weeks early

A great product even for the TC w/ an already factory short shifter! I've had a week of fun driving the car around, really feels firm in the shifts, which makes a huge improvement in the driving experience for me.

The provided instructions make it extremely easy to install. Was much easier then some of the previous STS's I've installed in other cars. Hardest part honestly was getting the shifter up on the older unit, took some force to get mine to come up. After that its just a matter of taken your time, and read/follow instructions

i got a STS for my mazda 3 and the install was pretty easy, the instructions are nicely detailed and it only took me about 35-45min...and i'm usually pretty slow when it comes to working on my car.

this one might be easier or harder i don't know but that was just my experience.

read my post. I love it. It is much firmer, doesn't get caught in neutral anymore. Not that much shorter in throw from stock (atleast for me) but it is shorter in size and the feel is fantastic. I definitely recommend anyone not sure if they should spend the extra money on this over the b&m and hurst, to just do it right the first time. two thumbs up from me for the twm sts on a tc
