07 ssna want to lower about 1 inch possibly 1 1/2inch

hey guys what are my options? i want to upgrade my suspension. it still stock for now but my right front shock is finally done. its a 2007 ss na sedan but it have the 18 inch rims from an sssc running 245/45r18 tires the potholes here are huge so i opted for more sidewall to avoid rim damage

You say you have 18" rims but you opted for more sidewall? I thought that was the largest wheel that came stock on any Cobalt? Do you mean 17"s? I'm running 245/45R17 tires on my car and there isn't much clearance so I would think a 245/45 tire on an 18" would be too big.

Onto the springs I would recommend YYZ v.5 springs. They don't lower as much as you'd like but are an actual upgrade and you won't sacrifice your ride quality. To me it sounds like you need the suspension travel for your rough roads anyway.

He said he opted for the more sidewall on the SS wheels which is why he chose the 45 over the 40 which is what the come with.

Cm springs are a good spring. Decent drop and ride pretty good. If you want lower get h&r. Don’t ride to bad but they are super low in the front. Here’s both

Cm springs. $180

H&r sport $230

245/45R18 would rub with the sort of drop OP is looking for I would think.
