ball joint question/help
hey guys i hit a pothole a couple a days ago which sucked because it hit pretty hard, but i wasnt speeding and im riding stock height. I was going 40 on a 45 i always try to aviod the potholes but florida has some shitty drivers and make it unbearable to drive behind them haha.... but basically my front tired is tilted inwards, i had a tech from my job take a look at it and told my ball joint is basically fucked up so i need to replace it..... i just want to know if i could just buy a new ball joint from a website or autozone and just replace it throught a friend of mines who owns a shop.... i have a 2007 cobalt ss ive heard i would have to buy a entire control arm... but i really do not want to throw 200 just on the control arm for a ball joint.
any advice, suggestions, and solutions would be great thanks everyone who reads this....
p.s. found this website and was wondering if these would work for my car by anychance?

i think if you file a report or something you can claim it to miami dade and they should give you your money back on whatever was broken. im not 100% sure but you might want to look up on this. i know some roads suck here. specially hialeah
If you think they will pay him back you are an serious idiot/crack head
Im not sure on the balts; but on many vehicles now a days you have the option of replacing just the ball joint or the whole control arm. A lot of times it is easier and cheaper just to replace the entire control arm.
you can use this as an opportunity to pick up some prothane or delrin control arm bushings too; or some aftermarket control arms, if you have the available funds...

to be honest, unless seperate d, a balljoint isnt going to cause the tire to camber in. it may look like its only the balljoint is bad, however you may also have a bent strut or knuckle. stuff like this may be hard to spot, but it can happen.
if the balljoint is for sure bad, replace it and get the car aligned. however, dont be surprised if the shop tells you they cant align it.
