wheel hub differences
last fall the front end of my car started making noise, both from a bad LCA bushing and also clunking from the CV axles. ordered all the parts to replace everything since i only planned to tear it all apart once and just do it all. pretty sure i had FE1 suspension to start with. updated a few things like the struts and LCA to FE3. i finally got to tearing it apart this last week (had a bad knee last fall so i couldnt do anything till it got better) and couldnt for the lfe of me get the new hubs to install in the steering knuckle. visually the new hubs were identical, minus the new ones were a few mm thicker around. part number on the new ones are 513214. shows up as a MOOG wheel hub but doesnt specify if it is for certain models or trim levels. i cant return these as i bought them too long ago. is it possible to maybe get the steering knucles trimmed down some to accept these hubs or should i just eat the cost of them and buy new hubs, again. kind of assuming i got burnt on these and will have to take a hit.
they look like they should fit but are just a hair too big, ideas?

Hmm. Is this for. Cobalt? That part number does indeed match on Amazon.com as the correct part. I just happened to be looking at these today in advanced Auto store today. So, that's concerning.
I kind of use Amazon to help verify something matches as it can filter to your car model.

yes they are for a cobalt. when i look at rockauto it has that part number listed ONLY for the 2.0l model. there is like 8 different numbers for the 2.2 models, some for 4 lug cars some for 5 lug cars with or without asb. pretty sure i burned myself and bought the wrong ones. so is it possible to machine the inner part of an LT knuckle to fit SS hubs? doesnt seem like it would throw anything off. the bolt holes would align the hub on the in the knuckle. the machining wouldnt be too hard to accomplish. got a few guys in the area that could do it.
