Different settings on coilover shock
Just for my understanding.
On a coilover shock suspension, I can adjust the height to what I want. 99.9% of guys adjust all 4 the same. So the front and rear have a certain feel.
Suppose I was to adjust the front to be lower than the rear. Does that change the characteristic for the shock?
Note: This is not something I'm thinking of doing or does it necessarily applies to Cobalt. Just trying to understand coilovers.

No, because if you bought the right setup you can always adjust the damper to soften the ride & each 1 is independent from the other. I just lowered mine with a 3/4 rake to the front, The factory has it about 1 1/4 inchs rake.... But you can do what ever you want level, raked forward, raked back whatever!
Check out this thread & you will see the rake mine is set at!
