FE1 Suspension Build & Questions
I’m looking to rebuild the suspension on my 2007 Cobalt, equipped with the Ferrari package,"fluid everywhere" FE1. This post is to help organize my thoughts and part numbers, as well as maybe find some deals or insight on my low budget build.
Struts and Shocks: KYB GR2/ExcelG Front Right Strut #339084 Front Left Strut #339085 Shocks #349043 Strut Mount: Moog #K160052 or Monroe #905907 Springs: Unknown. I’d like to lower the car at least 2”. Looking at cheaper eBay springs. If anyone has some for sale, message me. Replacing the ball joint and bushings was on the list anyway. So for the few extra dollars and much less work drilling out the old parts, this seems like a decent way to go. Control Arms: Moog Front Right Control Arm #RK620301 Front Left Control Arm #RK620302 Tie Rods and Ends: Moog Inner #EV80445 Outer #ES800030 Now for the parts I want to replace but would like to make sure I am correct with my logic. I plan to upgrade the FE1 sway bar to the FE5. 2005-2007 Cobalt FE5 24mm Sway Bar #15821093 From my research, it appears you need to use the 1 hole sway bar clamps, found at engine crate depot. Or does my car already have these clamps? 1 Hole Clamp #22722387 Moog 24mm Insulator/Bushing # K200028 Next on the list are end links which need to be the longer ones from the FE5 setup? Moog 11.8” Sway Bar End Links #K750012 I also would like a rear sway bar, but can’t find anything that is cheap. All seem way too expensive for what I’m looking to accomplish. Does anyone have one for sale? This is on my list and will get purchased, I just need to figure out where to find a deal. The last things I’d like to upgrade are the upper motor mount and both transmission mounts while I have the car tore apart. More items you can solicit me. If I’m forgetting anything or you have advice or pointers on the rebuild please let me know. |
I have 2 Moog sway bar links for sale. Also could sell you my FE5 struts with H&R springs. Also have the FE5 stock front sway bar. Will need new tie rod ends though.
