Items to make the body flex less??
First off I need to say I live in Michigan. The whole state is a big pot hole. We really have the worst roads in the country. It amazing the difference you notice once you leave the state.
With all of the bumps and pot holes I drive over, I notice many squeaks and it seems like the chasis is flexing.
Does someone make some form of subframe connector?
I am also considering add some sound deadner on the floor so you don't hear the bumps and road noise at much.

I went on their website and there will no pictures or price.
Any ideas how much they cost?
any feedback before and after?
I need to get underneath my car, I might be able to make them myself.
Run a 2x2x 1/8 or 3/16 along the Pinch weld and weld the sucker in.

I am surpised this mod isn't very popular with Cobalts.
Yes, I found them after googling them a few times. Looks like they were priced at $285(steel) in the beginning of 2006. It is almost 2009, So I would guess this price has gone to at least $300. Iwas hoping they would be around 250 but I will save my pennies.

What is there reasoning for not allowing sub frame connectors?
Are you allowed a roll cage?
For example my chevelle has a full frame that isn't boxed in the center. If I bought a convertible frame or boxed my frame would that be illegal also?
Why would subrame connector be "illegal" in auto crossing? I do not see any danger with them.

Lower your tire pressures, if using snow tires but high aspect ratio tires....that will help reduce the impact load on the structure. All car structures wear out the process starts the moment you drive it away from the dealership. If you are really serious about caring for your Cobalt, buy a winter beater. Winter conditions anywhere north of Arizona are brutal and as you say, especially in Michigan, well its tough on a car. Roll cages are the ultimate solution.

Yes they were designed for the Ions first and later they confirmed the cobalts are the same.
Thats good to know but I will never be competitively autocrossing my Cobalt. Maybe once a year
Roads are bad in Michigan 365 days a year. lol Good suggestion on using larger tires with a larger sidewall. I actually just went from 18s to 17s and the ride is a little better.
Depending my budget in the spring I might add them if it doesn't affect my warrenty.
I could see them saying you made the chasis flex less therefore the car hooked up better and your tranmission is broke because of it.
I said illegal in reasonable classes. You would have to run in Street Mod, which is not a realistic class to run in unless you have THOUSANDS of dollars to put into the car. Personally I want to stay in a competitive class, so I don't run them. Same with a roll cage - you can run them, but not in a stock or slightly modified class. It would be classed closer to the purpose-built cars which is WELL beyond the scope of most people I know who would want to auto-x a Cobalt.
