Moar Low

Hey guys I want to lower the car more but don't have the cash for it since im on a college budget. I have sportlines on now. What are the pros and cons of cutting the stock springs and putting them back on the car?? just tryin to see if it would be worth it or not lol

I'm not really sure about cutting. But personally I think sportlines are low enough, too low doesn't look good imo- looks kinda rice.

Nope don't even think about it. Cutting coils would require bending the springs back to the original shape. If you have seen the springs you will understand what I'm saying.

Please don't cut the springs...If you want lower then I'd suggest getting coilovers or going with H&R, I think those are one of the lowest you can get

I wouldnt risk cutting and bending. The metal will be weakened and that increases the risk of failure. And I don't think you way a spring snapping at 70mph...

the Strut setup is tough to cut springs and make sure it will work ok. the older style with the shock in the middle of the spring with the spring between the control arms is much easier. the biggest issue is the spring seats on the top and bottom. they are designed to be in a certain spot. also when your suspension unloads, the spring could shift if it is too short.

i wouldnt suggest it, H&R Sports wold be your next safest step

Who even needs springs. Just get rid of all your springs and save the time trying to find the lowest possibility.

I have been riding on cut springs since November of last year(about 9k miles), before that I was on TenzoR's for 45k miles, never cut bumpstops and never had a problem, because of where they are cut the passenger side occasionally makes a popping/heavy clicking noise but the top of the spring is not able to seat correctly and you can see where it pops in and out of place. It only does it when the spring is fully extended(my driveway) but when load is applied back to it it pops back where it needs to be.

Just take the wheels off the car. Then you'll be good and low. Be easier on the car too.

Bad idea.

Rides like absolute ****, will perform like total utter ****, and completely unsafe as ****.

But I guess do what you want if you need "moar low".. Resorting to this I'm guessing you're fairly desperate. Good luck.

You've got sportlines, no money for new, and a "desire" to be lower.

Gotta pay to play man. Get a jerb, make some jack, buy some springs.

wow that sounds safe. Don't come crying to us when it lets loose and your car gets totaled.
