Progress rear anti-sway bar...
 

just wanted everyone to know that I had my progress rear anti-sway bar installed. Keeps the backend in check now. Really feels great.

Since the cobalt and ION share the suspension setup, maybe it would be worth it to look into. This is simply a bar that bolts underneath and runs inline with the torsion beam. Someone who's interested should go check out the underpinnings of the ION and cobalt. Maybe they are swappable.

I have pics of the install. They are unfortunately on my neighbours digicam. Whenever I get them, I'll post the pics for reference.

I haave had mine on my car a about a week now and I think its well worth every penny. Definetly helped to tighten the car up more. Instillation is simple as only 4 bolts and uses existing holes already under the car.

I wish someone would come out with an adjustable one already :(

Might be waiting a while Im thinking but who knows I could be wrong. I was tired of waiting for one so I figured I would give the progress bar a try.

Does the bar noticably reduce body roll because I ploan on getting one soon.

Is your car lowered because if it is you should have a very good handling car.

Well, now you guys got me interested, where do I get it? Guess I'll buy that too...

The bar definetly helps to balance the car out a lot. Has a much flatter feel to it and you dont feel the drift anymore in the car. I dont have any pics of mine at all. I got mine from Dezod. Installation is easy as the holes are already there so no drilling to do and it comes with all the hardware you need and instructions which are like 3 steps if I remember correctly.

Yes we have quite a few of these on the shelf ready to roll. The bar has been a great success with this car and the Ion Redline. :)

isnt this rear sway bar the same thing as the torque foward rear brace?

I think it is.

If so it should not help roll at all. It should help keep the tires on the ground by stoping rear suspension flex tough. And that will give you beter handaling.

No this is not the same as the TQFWD brace. This is full solid 22mm bar and WILL Help reduce some roll and provide more rear end rigidity for supreme handling. Progress has awesome products.

The pics are important because I have both on order and don't want to end up with 2 of the "same" parts.

The progress bar is a actual sway bar. The trqfwd bar looks to me honestly just like a brace. Ill see if I can get a camera and take a pic of it on my car.

That is the same impression I got as well. Someone who purchased the Progress bar from us, please post a pic.

Im gonna try and get a pic tomorrow when I have my car up in the air.

BTW, guys...........THANKS for all of the support. We are cleaned out and have cleaned Progress out of these bars. So we are looking at 2 weeks before we can ship any more. Please continue to submit the back orders to ensure you get yours in a timely fashion. All back orders get processed 1st.

For what I want it for, I'll wait for the adjustable setup. If I just wanted it for crisper everyday handling, I'd probably bite the bullet and get the progress bar, but for what I want to do with my car I definitely want some adjustability.

Adjustable bars are a bit over rated IMHO. If the bar is well engineered and maintains a fine line of balance for a DD, then most handling issues can be solved through the spring, shock, valving, dampening, camber and drop.

I've just always liked to have as much adjustability in my car as possible. Allows me to keep a comfortable "daily driver" setting, as well as allows me to fine tune and adjust to different road courses and auto-x. I like everything as stiff as possible for auto-x, but for road courses there are some places where you want the suspension tighter than others. That's why I'm saving up for GOOD coilovers (read: tein or ohlins) with the maximum amount of adjustability.

I don't have too many handling "issues" it's just a matter of grabbing seconds here and there on the track with some fine tuning, hence why I like to have control over as many suspension parts as possible.
