Spring install question
 

I got a new set of pedders from someone for a good deal and I want to install them soon. I saw that some folks were installing drop springs with the collapsed part at the top. How can you tell which way the spring should go if I want the collapsed part at the top?

The coils are usually closer together.... usually.

So just put the side with coils closer together and hope for the best?

The springs are going to work exactly the same "right side up" or "upside down." They're springs, it doesn't matter. seriously. put one on the ground. Sit on it. flip it. sit on it. Did it work any differently? Now imagine that instead of you sitting on them, they are in your car. :)

I want to have the collaped coils at the top to keep salt and stuff out of them as much as possible.
