Suspension gurus chime in and help me out!
Started doing this a few days ago.. Does this when turning the wheel.. When starting off in first gear makes a few knocks/clunks/... When driving in 1st 2nd, or 3rd low Rpms, and press the brake once it makes a knock or clunk.
What do you guys think? http://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/...3A0CE0CC94.mp4 |
sounds like..... someone is trying to make love to the car
but seriously im not too sure |
imma go with cv joint as powell said, and to my knowledge it wont make noise all the time, my gf's celica has a bad cv joint, and it only makes noise every once and a while, you could also check your sway bar endlinks, grab them and jerk em around, if they have any give, they are bad; i think thats how you check them, someone correct me if im wrong.

Checked a bunch of shit everything is gooood
|
Hmmm definitely doesn't sound like a cv joint
|
its the top bearing on the strut mount or you have bad coilovers. either way, jack it up and get it apart and fixed lol steering is vip

+1. And Powell I'll check this out tomorrow when I turn the wheel.. The strut top joint swivels very smoothly doesent jump get stuck or anything
|
Loose Lugs? Happened to me once and sounded similar...
|
Everything seemed fine on the coils Powell. If it was the top strut bearing I would definitely feel it if I put my hand on the strut top correct? Lugs are tightened.
|
check the lower bracket. check the spring perch. have some one turn the wheel while you look at the spring with a flashlight thru the wheel to see if the spring is binding and unwinding on the lower or upper spring perch.
all i got so far if the top plate is good. all the best of luck with this. hope u find the answer. |
Okay I will do that. Lower brackets are tightened. I'll check the spring. Can't wait to find out what this is!
|
Slight wobble upon braking while driving on the highway.. Another symptom lol.. Anyone think it would be a wheel bearing?
