Talking What your brakes SHOULDNT look like after 45K Miles......

Well I changed my brakes today after 45K miles I was hearing a grinding sound, I would have replaced them earlier but I was waiting for my rotors to come in. This is what I found when I fliped the Passenger side rotor to its inner side....

This is what my Driver side one looked like, it is normal just wanted to use it as comparison....

I replaced them w/ Uneek's Style C (Drilled Only) Rotors, all four and PosiQuiet Brake pads, I havent used them much but I LOVE them so far, they feel like brakes should, no shaking and good response! Here is some pictures of them on my car......

Tell me whatcha think?

I did the same thing as you, exactly! My rotors were all f*cked up. My passenger side wore out the most, so did urs, thats weird. But I went ahead and bought cross drilled rotors and new pads and did it myself, very easy. took me 20 mins .

Took me longer b/c I couldnt figure out how to do the rears but a simple pair of needle nose pliers was all I needed!

people come in to the shop all the time with rotor wear like that and i always wonder how in the world they didnt hear long ago? when they start squeeling that usually a good sign to check em out hah. ive seen people with vented rotors wear the entire inside surface off and half of the center fins. its not like it could happen overnight hah.

What the HELL?
Were you using a cheese grader as a brake pad?

I'll tell you what I think. I like them alot. I like what you did with your calipers too. Red and black it looks like. Anyways, thats not to bad. They lasted a long time. I bet you could of got away with changing them about 2-5k ago though. I'm going to see how long mine last and go the same path maybe. Or get the GMP ones.

ya mine are the same way, well not as bad but getting there and i only have 8300Km on my car...gm actually has a bulletin about them they wear like that because the stock rotor is too small for the rims and thus creates so much heat that it just wreaks havic on the rotors and brakes...thankfully you can get this solved quite easily and cheaply as well. so any of you guys that have stock rotors on your cars still and have the vibrations just go to your dealership and tell them about it and they should take car of it.

Thanks man and yea they are Red and Black, these rotors are just so much better even when I got the car I still remember how it felt, vibrations out the ass, these fix all of those problems, maybe pretty soon I will get the Z06 Conversion that Cobalt Addiction is doing!

I definitely like the new rotors. Hopefully this time, you'll actually be able to get some decent mileage out of 'em!
