Exclamation HP Tuners help

Hey guys so my buddy is trying to get his lnf tuned and when it's hooked up to hp Tuners it will not read and says "can't read vcm". Now the tuner whose tuned many lnfs and lsj cobalts has never ran into this problem. He's tried the old 2.24 version and the newest version from hp Tuners and it still won't let him in. Now the car is already tuned as well when my buddy bought it used from a dealer. Could this car possibly have a trifecta tune on it?? Thanks guys

I'm betting it has trifecta on it. Have him test out the cruise control/traction control/comp mode switches

Weird thing is though it doesn't have the go sensors and it's boasting 22psi and pulls decent but it's starting to misfire a little so he put new plugs in, coil packs and wanted a re tune but that didn't happen lol. I'll tell him to put the cruise control button on and see if anything happens

Sorry damn auto correct! Meant to say "GM stage 1 sensors." Yeah he has those buttons but I don't think it changes things. I'll verify that tomorrow

Oh, that makes sense now. If he's boosting 22psi there is most likely a tune on it, log the car (if it has a trifecta you should still be able to log it) that should give you an idea quickly. I can't recall off the top of my head the exact timing of a stock tune but I think it's 9 or 10*

See what version of 2.24 he has.

He likely needs 2.24.1170 or 2.24.1172
