the HPTuner worth the $ ?? should I get one

Hey everyone so I got my stage 2 on with the 3.0 pulley, 60olb inj, headers, full exhaust and cold air and wondering if I should go ahead and get the HPT for my 07 cobalt SS? I've heard yes then no don't waste the money but is this worth it?

I was hoping to get some feedback and some who have one and does it gain more power or noticeable power or whats the real benefit for them?

hp tuners is a tuning program, not a tune. you dont just plug it in and push a few buttons, its a full on tuning program that allows access to the tables in the ecm and allows you to make changes. if you dont know what your doing with it you will cause serious damage to your engine.

Thank you sir I new it was a all in one tool but wasn't sure if it's worth the reward. But I'll learn these cars more before going into a deep dive.

oh its worth the reward but you need to spend a good 10-20 hours learning what to do with it before you even hook it to your car. once you do that it can take hours upon hours of small changes to make a difference. this is why people pay shops to use hp tuners to tune for them.

Or you can have someone remote tune you but you need to have hptuners first, totally worth it

Yea thanks guys I know I sound completely new to wrenching but I promise I'm not. Just newer to these electronics and systems. I'm great with a 350 and carb lol. Got a badass Camaro now but picked this cobalt ss up and the zzp kit.

Now I can't evendors drive it. Eng red pwr on and won't barely stay cranked. I don't know if there is anyone in my immediate area. But I plan on keeping this badboy for the long haul and learning it. Anyone have any ideas for this reduce power? All I did was finish the bolt ons ans swap the pcm and now it's just sad ...

I have flashed a couple hundred tunes between two of my cars, so it has paid for itself 10 fold. You should really get the Pro version to get external inputs, I think it is crap they even offer something without the external inputs, but I guess you an steal a factory sensor to dump the 0-5v WBO2 signal so you can record the readings in the scan. It is risky to tune WOT without a WBO2, not impossible, but for a beginner it is not recommended. WBO2 is the easy button to get fueling optimized at WOT.

This "Tuning 101" series will give you an idea of DIY engine calibration (tuning), the examples include HPTuners software:
