LSJ turbo tune

I have tried searching and haven't found an exact answer. I have a 2006 lsj that is getting a turbo now if I am only running factory boost levels does it requiring tunning?

Boost pressure and airflow are two totally different things. Depending on which turbo you choose your airflow will be much greater even at the same or less boost. Which will require injectors(requires tune) and airflow tuning.

Some people like to run e85.

Sounds like you need to do a bit more research on this topic man. I would search for the turbo lsj thread and start from the bieginning. Lots of great info to be had. A 16g on gas would probably require 60lb/hr injectors.

Why wouldn't you want to re-tune it for a turbo swap?

It will run ok if the injectors are the same size as they were before. It will not be optimum and possibly not safe at WOT.

It's all dependent on the MAF scale, if the intake is the SAME, the scale will be reasonably accurate and the airflow passing over it will cause the PCM to fuel accordingly. The throttle response will be different in relation to boost levels, so part throttle stuff will be off but it should be enough to drive around normally.

At some point you will exceed the MAF airflow you saw before on the blower, as 12 psi on a turbo will be moving more air than 12psi on a blower most likely, even with a small 16G. This will force your tune into ranges it's never been in, which could result in improper fueling that was never an issue before.

Long story short, get the car tuned. Why wouldn't you tune for a turbo swap anyway?
