My first tune: idle
Hello guys!
I just finished the tunning courses offered at hp academy and I am ready to get iron out my idle. A little history first: the car was previously tunned by a friend, the engine died from knock, fixed the engine, changed the turbo to 57-57 .63ar. the first issue I want to iron out is the fact that as soon as you turn on the car, my spark is all over the place and my short trim fuel table does not register nothing for 2 minutes 20 seconds. as soon as the STFT start registering, the spark is stable. the second issue is that the car is too ritch at idle (you can smell gassoline while idle, my EQ is 1, is this the value the idel is supposed to be? if no, what would be an aceptabe EQ for idle.

You need to add a lot more to the scanner for logging. The hptuners forum has an LNF guide and a few threads that address the idle hunt specifically, but a fair warning it will take a lot of time to get the idle stable on an LNF.
Get some base line tuning done to make sure your injector constant is in the correct range then get started with idle.
Additional question are you starting from a stock file or your buddies file?
