Trifecta tune reaches rev limiter at 4k rpms?

Hello,

I recently found out that my car has the select-a-tune from trifecta, and it is turned on by pressing the traction control button twice. This tune increases the boost from 15 to 20 pounds, and I notice a great increase in power. However, this doesn't last long because almost every pull, the car starts backfiring around 4,000 rpms. I contacted trifecta through wot-tuning.com support and they said it is backfiring because it is reaching the rev limiter. They said I need to change my driving habits... the car can get up to 4k rpms so fast it feels like you have to shift as soon as you even get the acceleration pedal to the floor.

Is it realistic to have a rev limiter at 4,000 rpms? When I turn the tune off, my car easily goes up to 6,000 rpms without backfiring.

Something is wrong. Im surprised you got a response from WOT-Tuning. I've been waiting like 2 weeks for an updated ecp tune...

Thinking I'm going to switch to HPT once I get my next job contract lined up.

It took me several weeks to just get a single response back from them. I also offered them my vin number to try and locate data on the tune...They said that it isn't tuned through trifecta... Then I told them about the traction control button, all of a sudden it is tuned now...even though they say by my vin # it isn't...

Probably accidentally gave you a valet tune.
