Last week Magnaflow invited me to come out to their Oceanside Cali facility for a factory tour. Here are a few photos from the tour. The place is HUGE! The shipping and manufacturing facility is about 6 acres in size!

They have over 5,000 fixtures:

Testing and packaging cat converters. They produce about 4,000 cats a day (1 million per year):

I also visited the R&D/test facility, however no photos were allowed do to some "movie cars" in their bays. They have a mustang and dynojet dyno. This allows them to test performance and sound of each application. They typically have 10-20 cars/trucks each week come through they R&D area.

They make everything from scratch... They start with metal and make the exhaust... They make all their own mufflers and glass packs and cat converters. They buy no pre made parts!

They ship about 2 semi loads of product out each day. It took almost 3 hours to tour the warehouse/manufacturing building... It was that large!

impressive factory! Have never had much sucess with their mufflers on my cobalt though, the packing seems to burn up after 6 months which makes some awful noise. I am running one of their high flow cat converters now and it has been holding up great.

Yeah it was impressive... 32 foot tall ceilings! Being the main building is 6-7 football fields in size. It is hard to imaging making 1 million cat converters each year... That is a lot of cats!

We are working on getting the 3" Magnaflow cat back exhaust released for the LNF!!! Who wants one of these exhaust that many have been wanting for years!

haha me! there local to me and have had a hhr ss exhaust for a few years and ive called them a few times to work on a cobalt ss one but they said not enough interest :(

Working with Chad and Josh there, sounds like it should happen for the Cobalt LNF...

At the time they "thought" the fixture was complete... They just never made any yet. They are looking into it this week. If they need a test car, we will keep you in mind when we speak with them.

Yeah I was all over Irvine... Stopped in Greddy too... Not that they make anything for the Cobalt.

Thats is a impressive factory.. You could probaby get lost in there your first week on the job lol.

Can't wait to see the MagnaFlow CatBack, i know i have been waiting for one..

Sedan and coupe have the same exhaust, so as long as your car is stock, go get it!!!
