06 cobalt ss sc vs. 05 neon srt-4.....1/4 cobalt wins

no problem, you just got some false info somewhere. some people post **** in forums that they say they have experienced first hand and ****, and they just screw everyone else over making them post false info later on. Someone on the rsx forums was trying to convince everyone that honda uses a totally different torque rating system than everyone else and they actually have about 150% of the torque they claim.

I have a question though, if exhaust gases make the impeller spin that makes the compressor spin to make boost, does this cause backpressure?? Is there a such a thing as to much boost that would create to much back pressure??

well the blades that are spun by the exhaust will obviously slow down the exhuast velocity because of the inertia of the blades and their friction, but there are ways of decreasing that friction ALOT. twin ball bearing turbos spool faster than a standard bearing turbo because there is alot less friction. The reason turbo engines can free up so much power with exhaust mods is because the more you free up the flow in front of and behind the turbo, the faster it can spool and the quicker exhaust gasses flow thru the turbine. Different size turbos can make maximum boost levels. When a wastegate is totally closed, a turbo will make its full boost at the highest exhaust velocity in the rpm's. There is a maximum boost level because of the design of the turbo and how big the compressor is. If a compressor is larger, it will be able to spin at a higher rpm and will have bigger blades making for higher maximum boost, but since it is larger, it has more inertia and it is harder to get it spinning. That is what creates turbo lag. Boost changes relative to heat and humidity tho, it is more of a cfm matter than boost, but you get the idea.

Thanx 8cd03gro... I wasnt sure exacly how that operated eh. But now I understand how twin ball bearing turbo's are more efficient than just a ball bearing one. I knew that smaller turbo spool up faster (less turbo lagg) but also have less boost possibilities!! Anyways thanx alot, I have a better understanding now!!

DR's are not a mod = stock, if was truely stock.

a mod=modification=changing something about the car= not stock
if i wanted to be technical about it i could say you werent stock if you took off your wing or put different headlights in

As I posted early when and only when a car is bone stock with DR's i still consider the car stock. Thats my opinion, that's all.

Alright then, sorry about the misunderstanding, every forum I'm on, other SRT-4 owners and their attitudes gets me heat for it.
I just couldn't resist
