Cobalt SS s/c VS. 06 Civic SI
 

so i wsa driving back from a friends house, and i see new 2006 civic si. really nice red, and after reading the jan 06 motor trend earlier today about all the pros the civic AKA "Motor Trends Car of the Year" i was eager to race one. i didnt expect to lose considering the times and numbers when comparing the two, but still there was a remark made by motor trend about the cobalt SS so i figure hey, motor trends got a prob lol lets settle it on the rd haha....either way i pull up to him and ask him to race...he agrees and we head over to a local street to race... we got 2 runs from a dig, one from 20, and one from 40......it goes without saying that i handed him his ass on a platter.....but i still like his car lol.....from a dig, by about 90 i mustve been at least 10 cars ahead of him idk something like that...but none the less it was fun, and he didnt give up of course he kept punching it until he would pass me even after i would slow down a whole bunch....from 20 again destroyed him and same from 40....then he was like 3 cars ahead of me going about 70(he already had it floored for a bit) i was in 3rd going 50...hit it and very quickly caught up and what do ya know flew right past him hahah......anyways i still like the SI its a great car, and im not trying to prove anything by talking about this race, just thought some ppl would be interested how our car compared....i have it on video my cousin was recording, the vids aint that great except for one of em is good so if i can figure out how to put a video up on the net ill be more than happy to post that

I was looking at the Civic Si site in Canada. It has a higher base price than the SS/SC in Canada. My SS/SC was just over $31,000 with sunroof, G85, and side-curtain air-bags. I worked out a Civic Si with roughly equivalent options that I would buy (no leather obviously) and it was more! I was surprised. The Cobalt is still the best deal on the market today, especially since the Neon SRT-4 died.
