Cobalt SS/SC(CAI) vs 2003 Tiburon(many mods)

I was out with my future bro in law yesterday, and went and got my car dyno'd(dont ask, i wasnt really happy with the A/F ratio) and afterwards we went and played for about an hour or so, just screwin around. We were dead even every single time, neither one could really pull on the other. Im hoping to get tuned up A/F wise on friday, and the 150lbs system out of the back, and for both of us to take it to the track next tuesday. Ill let you know how it turns out.

I wasn't too impressed with the excelleration of the tiburon when I test drove it, but I do love the looks, the new ones anyway.

yeah NxtGen does great work but hes too damn expensive, yeah i know if he pulleys it im roasted. Thats why there is an Eaton MP90 with my name on it here in St. Louis. Im waiting on bigger injectors, something to correct timing(i already have a fuel tuner) a custom intake manifold, and an either an aftercooler to be built or alky injection to cool the charge

Ill see if I cant scan in my dyno sheet. and Ill post some pics of the car and stuff too. Maybe I can borrow one of the other tiburon club members here in st louis' camcorder and video a race or something

whoa whoa, your car was running a bad tune, turned 168whp, and you kept up with an SS/SC? Or was that 168whp without "all" the mods when you raced?

You need to get some track numbers. The Cobalt and the Tibby weight almost the same, and 168whp will not keep up with a SS/SC unless he was running 87 octane and missed most of his shifts....

Unless it was a mustang dyno, in which it would only be slightly more believable.

+1. Mike, I dyno'd mine at Steigemeier's in St. Charles BONE STOCK and got 233whp,198wtq. While a little higher than average, most S/C SS's dyno ~220whp stock. If you were even, he's either got somthing wrong with his car, or it's a 2.4 SS.
